P0C30-00 and other DTCs are output B

    Post-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result:

    B

GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID BATTERY SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [12/2023 - ]

    Result:

    A

    See step  2

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (EV)

    Pre-procedure1

    • None.
    • Check for DTCs.

Powertrain > EV > Trouble Codes

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are not output A
      DTCs are output B

    Post-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result:

    B

GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [12/2023 - ]

    Result:

    A

    See step  3

  3. CHECK FREEZE FRAME DATA (EV BATTERY)

    Pre-procedure1

    • None.
    • Read the freeze frame data of DTC P0C30-00.

Powertrain > EV Battery > DTC(P0C30-00) > Freeze Frame Data

      Tester Display
      Ready Signal
      SMRG Control Status
      SMRB Control Status
      SMRP Control Status
      Hybrid/EV Battery Current

      Result

      Result Proceed to
OFF is displayed for "Ready Signal", "SMRP Control Status", "SMRB Control Status" and "SMRG Control Status" and -0.5 A or less is displayed for "Hybrid/EV Battery Current". A
      Other than above B

      HINT:

As the ignition switch ON state may cause the DTC to be stored, freeze frame data is used to judge the cause of the DTC output.

    Post-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result:

    B

REPLACE EV CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2023 - ]

    Result:

    A

    See step  4

  4. INSPECT NO. 1 EV BATTERY JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (SMRP, SMRB, SMRG)
    WARNING:

Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    Pre-procedure1

    • Check that the service plug grip and FC converter power outlet cable are not installed.
      NOTE:

After removing the service plug grip and FC converter power outlet cable, do not turn the ignition switch to ON (READY), unless instructed by the appropriate service information because this may cause a malfunction.

    • Remove the upper EV battery cover panel.

      HINT:

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2023 - ]

    • Disconnect the high voltage cable connectors from the No. 1 EV battery junction block assembly.
      NOTE:

Insulate each disconnected high-voltage connector with insulating tape. Wrap the connector from the wire harness side to the end of the connector.

    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Component without harness connected
(No. 1 EV Battery Junction Block Assembly)
      - -

      Standard Resistance (SMRB)

Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      N1-1 (CBI) - z13-1 (+) Always 10 kΩ or higher kΩ
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Component without harness connected
(No. 1 EV Battery Junction Block Assembly)
      - -

      Standard Resistance (SMRG, SMRP)

Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      N2-1 (CEI) - z12-1 (-) Always 10 kΩ or higher kΩ

      HINT:

If the resistance is between 24.3 and 29.7 Ω, it can be determined that SMRP is stuck closed.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Post-procedure1

    • Reconnect the high voltage cable connectors to the No. 1 EV battery junction block assembly.
    • Install the upper EV battery cover panel.

    Result:

    NG

REPLACE NO. 1 EV BATTERY JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2023 - ]

    Result:

    OK

    See step  5

  5. PERFORM INITIALIZATION (CURRENT SENSOR OFFSET LEARNING)

    Pre-procedure1

    • None.
    • Turn the ignition switch to ON (READY).
    • Perform a road test.
      NOTE:

      Accelerate/decelerate gently. Avoid rapid acceleration/deceleration.

    • Drive the vehicle with the value of Data List item "Hybrid/EV Battery Current" between -50 A and 50 A.

Powertrain > EV Battery > Data List

      Tester Display
      Hybrid/EV Battery Current

      HINT:

Distance and driving time are not specified.

    • Turn the ignition switch off and leave the vehicle for 30 seconds or more.
    • Check that the value of "Hybrid/EV Battery Current" is between - 0.5 A and 0.5 A with the ignition switch ON.

Powertrain > EV Battery > Data List

      Tester Display
      Hybrid/EV Battery Current
      NOTE:
      • If the value is outside the specified range, perform the road test again.
      • This DTC may be output if Current Sensor Offset Learning has not been completed.

      HINT:

      • If the ignition switch is ON and value of "Hybrid/EV Battery Current" is between - 0.5 A and 0.5 A, current sensor offset learning has been completed.
      • Even if the current sensor offset learning is not complete, the current sensor value will be corrected by repeating the road test a maximum of 7 times.

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Post-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result:

    NEXT

    END
