Removal [12/2022 - 12/2023]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION NOTE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
- PERFORM ACCUMULATOR PRESSURE ZERO DOWN
- Using the GTS, perform the accumulator pressure zero down operation.
1. Select "Motor Deactivate" on the "ECB Utility" screen.
Chassis > Brake/EPB > Utility
Tester Display ECB Utility 2. Perform "Motor Deactivate" according to the display on the GTS.
3. Select "ECB Deactivate" on the "ECB Utility" screen.
Chassis > Brake/EPB > Utility
Tester Display ECB Utility 4. Perform "ECB Deactivate" according to the display on the GTS.
5. Depress the brake pedal 40 times or more to return all the fluid in the accumulator back to the reservoir.
HINT:
A buzzer may sound due to low accumulator pressure. As this is not a malfunction, continue the procedure.
6. Check that the brake pedal is firm.
NOTE:If the brake pedal is not firm or the pump motor continues to operate even after depressing the brake pedal 40 times or more, the accumulator pressure zero down operation is not complete.
7. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

- Using the GTS, perform the accumulator pressure zero down operation.
- When the accumulator pressure zero down could not be performed using the GTS.NOTE:
If DTCs are output, the accumulator pressure zero down operation may not be complete. In this case, perform the following procedure.
1. With the ignition switch off, disconnect the brake master cylinder with pump assembly connector.
NOTE:Be careful not to allow any brake fluid to enter the connector.
2. Depress the brake pedal 40 times or more to return all the fluid in the accumulator back to the reservoir.
3. Check that the brake pedal is firm.
NOTE:If the brake pedal is not firm or the pump motor continues to operate even after depressing the brake pedal 40 times or more, the accumulator pressure zero down operation is not complete.
4. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

- When the accumulator pressure zero down could not be performed using the GTS.
- REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP

- REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5
- REMOVE FC STACK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8
- DISCONNECT FC CONVERTER POWER OUTLET CABLE (INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY)
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 - REMOVE CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 - CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12 - INSTALL CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18 - DRAIN BRAKE FLUID NOTE:
If brake fluid leaks onto any painted surface, immediately wash it off.
- REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE FENDER APRON BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
- DISCONNECT FC CONVERTER POWER OUTLET CABLE (INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY) WARNING:
Wear insulated gloves.
- REMOVE COOLER BRACKET
- DISCONNECT RELAY BLOCK
- REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET
- DISCONNECT FRONT COMPARTMENT MAIN WIRE
Release the lock lever Disconnect the connector - Disconnect the brake master cylinder with pump assembly connector.NOTE:
Be careful not to allow any brake fluid to enter the connector.
- Release the lock lever and disconnect the connector from the brake actuator assembly.NOTE:
Be careful not to allow any brake fluid to enter the connector.
- Disconnect the brake master cylinder with pump assembly connector.
- REMOVE BRAKE TUBE NOTE:
- Do not kink or damage the brake tubes.
- Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt or dust to enter the brake tubes from the connecting parts.
*a From 1st Chamber of Brake Booster with Master Cylinder Assembly *b From 2nd Chamber of Brake Booster with Master Cylinder Assembly *c To Front Disc Brake Cylinder Assembly RH *d To Front Disc Brake Cylinder Assembly LH *e To Rear Disc Brake Cylinder Assembly RH *f To Rear Disc Brake Cylinder Assembly LH - Use tags or make a memo to identify the places to reconnect the brake tubes.
- Using a union nut wrench, disconnect the 4 brake tubes from the brake actuator assembly and brake booster with master cylinder assembly.
- Disengage the 2 clamps and remove the 2 brake tubes from the brake tube clamp.
- REMOVE BRAKE TUBE CLAMP NOTE:
Do not kink or damage the brake tubes.
- DISCONNECT BRAKE TUBE NOTE:
- Do not kink or damage the brake tubes.
- Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt or dust to enter the brake tubes from the connecting parts.
- REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH BRACKET NOTE:HINT: Remove the brake actuator with bracket while avoiding the brake tubes.
- Do not kink or damage the brake tubes.
- Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt or dust to enter the brake tubes from the connecting parts.
- Be careful not to allow any brake fluid to enter the connector.
- Do not hold the brake actuator with bracket by the connector.
- Do not drop the brake actuator with bracket when carrying it.
- REMOVE NO. 5 BRAKE ACTUATOR BRACKET
HINT:
Perform this procedure only when replacement of the No. 5 brake actuator bracket is necessary. - REMOVE NO. 3 BRAKE ACTUATOR BRACKET
HINT:
Perform this procedure only when replacement of the No. 3 brake actuator bracket is necessary. - REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY NOTE:
- Do not hold the brake actuator assembly by the connector.
- Do not drop the brake actuator assembly when carrying it.
- REMOVE NO. 1 BRAKE ACTUATOR CASE COLLAR

Perform this procedure only when replacement of the No. 1 brake actuator case collars is necessary. - REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR BRACKET CUSHION
