Removal [11/2020 - 11/2021]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION
Refer to PRECAUTION [11/2020 - ] NOTE:After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
- RELEASE PARKING BRAKE
- Turn off the electric parking brake AUTO function.
- With the ignition switch on, operate the electric parking brake switch assembly to release the parking brake. Then turn the ignition switch off.
HINT:
If the parking brake cannot be released, perform the forced release of parking brake.
- FORCED RELEASE PARKING BRAKE NOTE:
- If the parking brake cannot be released by operating the electric parking brake switch assembly, perform forced release by using electric release SST.

- If the parking brake cannot be released even when using electric release SST due to a malfunction in the parking brake actuator with bracket assembly, perform the following procedures.
- Remove the No. 1 differential support protector.
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1
- Remove the No. 2 differential support protector.
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
- Remove the rear suspension brace cover.
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3
- Using a 4 mm long socket hexagon wrench, remove the bolt and release cable cover.
- Remove the cap.
- Insert a 4 mm socket hexagon wrench into the release cable and while pushing down, rotate it counterclockwise.
- After checking that the parking brake has been released, install the cap.NOTE:
When installing the cap, make sure it inserted facing the correct direction.
- Using a 4 mm long socket hexagon wrench, install the release cable cover with the bolt.
Torque: 3.0 N*m (31 kgf*cm, 27 in.*lbf)
- If the parking brake cannot be released by operating the electric parking brake switch assembly, perform forced release by using electric release SST.
- REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY

- SEPARATE OIL COOLER TUBE ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET
- REMOVE CABLE SUPPORT BRACKET
- REMOVE NO. 2 CABLE SUPPORT BRACKET
- REMOVE NO. 2 ACTUATOR HARNESS CLAMP
- REMOVE NO. 1 ACTUATOR HARNESS CLAMP
