DTC C05C1-51: Brake Pedal Position Sensor "B" Not Programmed [11/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK BRAKE PEDAL 
    1. Check that the brake pedal and the brake pedal stroke sensor assembly are properly installed and that the pedal can be depressed normally.
    2. Check and adjust the brake pedal height.

      HINT: 

      Refer to ADJUSTMENT [11/2020 - 12/2023] , or refer to ADJUSTMENT [12/2023 - ]

    3. Adjust the brake pedal stroke sensor assembly.

      HINT: 

      Refer to INSTALLATION [11/2020 - 12/2022] , or refer to INSTALLATION [12/2022 - ]

  2. CLEAR ZERO POINT VALUE FOR BRAKE PEDAL STROKE SENSOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Clear the zero point value for the brake pedal stroke sensor assembly.

      HINT: 

      Refer to UTILITY [11/2020 - ]

      Chassis > Brake/EPB > Utility 

      Tester Display
      Reset Memory

      Result

      Proceed to

    Result:

  3. PERFORM BRAKE PEDAL STROKE SENSOR ASSEMBLY ZERO POINT CALIBRATION 
    1. Perform brake pedal stroke sensor assembly zero point calibration.

      HINT: 

      Refer to UTILITY [11/2020 - ]

      Chassis > Brake/EPB > Utility 

      Tester Display
      Calibration

  4. CLEAR DTC 

    Pre-procedure1

    • None
    • Clear the DTCs.

      Chassis > Brake Booster > Clear DTCs 

      Chassis > Brake/EPB > Clear DTCs

    Post-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result:

  5. RECONFIRM DTC 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Based on the Freeze Frame Data and interview with the customer, attempt to reproduce the conditions when the malfunction occurred.
    • Check if the same DTC is output.

      Chassis > Brake/EPB > Trouble Codes

      Result Proceed to
      Only C05C1-51 is output A
      DTCs are not output B
      C05C1-51 and other DTCs are output C

  6. RECONFIRM DTC 
    1. Check the DTCs that are output.

  7. INSPECT BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (SENSOR OUTPUT) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch off.
    • Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

    Pre-procedure2

    • Disconnect the A2 brake pedal stroke sensor assembly connector.
    • Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    Pre-procedure3

    • Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      A2-2 (VSK2) - A2-3 (SKG2) Ignition switch ON 4.84 to 5.16 V V

    Post-procedure1

    • None

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
