Reassembly [11/2020 - 12/2023]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL ROCKER PANEL MOULDING EMBLEM

  2. INSTALL ROCKER PANEL MOULDING PAD

      *a Mark-off Line - -
      Installation Area - -
      1. Clean the rocker panel moulding LH surface:

        1. When reusing the rocker panel moulding LH, remove remaining double-sided tape from the rocker panel moulding LH.

        2. Using a heat light, heat the rocker panel moulding LH surface.

        Standard Value

        Part Temperature
        Rocker Panel Moulding LH 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
        Rocker Panel Moulding Pad 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
        WARNING:
        • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
        • Touching the heat light may result in burns.
        • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

        NOTE:

        Do not heat the rocker panel moulding LH excessively.

        3. Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the rocker panel moulding LH and wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

        4. Clean the installation area surface.

        NOTE:
        • Installing the rocker panel moulding pad with some double-sided tape remaining may cause poor adhesion. Perform this procedure until the tape is sufficiently removed.
        • Make sure to use a cloth when removing. Using a screwdriver, etc., may cause damage and poor adhesion.
        • Also, clean a new rocker panel moulding LH surface.
      2. Using a heat light, heat the rocker panel moulding LH and a new rocker panel moulding pad.
        NOTE:

        Do not heat the rocker panel moulding LH and rocker panel moulding pad excessively.

      3. Install the 2 rocker panel moulding pads in the position shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:

        The application strength of the rocker panel moulding pad will weaken if reapplied. If reapplication is necessary, be sure to replace it with a new one.

        HINT: 

        Apply pressure so that it does not lift up from the rocker panel moulding LH.

  3. INSTALL NO. 3 MOULDING TAPE

      *1 No. 4 Rocker Panel Moulding Protector *2 Rocker Panel Moulding Cover LH
      *a Mark-off Line - -
      Installation Area - -
      1. Clean the installation area surface.
      2. Using a heat light, heat the installation area and a new No. 3 moulding tape.

        Standard Value

        Part Temperature
        No. 4 Rocker Panel Moulding Protector 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
        Rocker Panel Moulding Cover LH 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
        No. 3 Moulding Tape 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
        WARNING:
        • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
        • Touching the heat light may result in burns.
        • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

        NOTE:

        Do not heat the installation area and No. 3 moulding tape excessively.

      3. Install the 3 No. 3 moulding tapes in the position shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:

        The application strength of the No. 3 moulding tape will weaken if reapplied. If reapplication is necessary, be sure to replace it with a new one.

        HINT: 

        Apply pressure so that it does not lift up from the installation area.

  4. INSTALL SIDE MUDGUARD PROTECTOR LH

      Installation Area - -
      1. Clean the rocker panel moulding LH surface:

        1. When reusing the rocker panel moulding LH, remove remaining double-sided tape from the rocker panel moulding LH.

        2. Using a heat light, heat the rocker panel moulding LH surface.

        Standard Value

        Part Temperature
        Rocker Panel Moulding LH 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
        Side Moulding Protector LH 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
        WARNING:
        • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
        • Touching the heat light may result in burns.
        • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

        NOTE:

        Do not heat the rocker panel moulding LH excessively.

        3. Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the rocker panel moulding LH and wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

        4. Clean the installation area surface.

        NOTE:
        • Installing the side moulding protector LH with some double-sided tape remaining may cause poor adhesion. Perform this procedure until the tape is sufficiently removed.
        • Make sure to use a cloth when removing. Using a screwdriver, etc., may cause damage and poor adhesion.
        • Also, clean a new rocker panel moulding LH surface.
      2. Using a heat light, heat the rocker panel moulding LH and a new side moulding protector LH.
        NOTE:

        Do not heat the rocker panel moulding LH and side moulding protector LH excessively.

      3. Install the side moulding protector LH in the position shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:

        The application strength of the side moulding protector LH will weaken if reapplied. If reapplication is necessary, be sure to replace it with a new one.

        HINT: 

        Apply pressure so that it does not lift up from the rocker panel moulding LH.

  5. INSTALL NO. 4 ROCKER PANEL MOULDING PROTECTOR

      Installation Area - -
      1. Clean the rocker panel moulding LH surface:

        1. When reusing the rocker panel moulding LH, remove remaining double-sided tape from the rocker panel moulding LH.

        2. Using a heat light, heat the rocker panel moulding LH surface.

        Standard Value

        Part Temperature
        Rocker Panel Moulding LH 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
        No. 4 Rocker Panel Moulding Protector 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
        WARNING:
        • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
        • Touching the heat light may result in burns.
        • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

      2. Using a heat light, heat the rocker panel moulding LH and a new No. 4 rocker panel moulding protector.

        Do not heat the rocker panel moulding LH and No. 4 rocker panel moulding protector excessively.

      3. Install the No. 4 rocker panel moulding protector in the position shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:

        The application strength of the No. 4 rocker panel moulding protector will weaken if reapplied. If reapplication is necessary, be sure to replace it with a new one.

        HINT: 

        Apply pressure so that it does not lift up from the rocker panel moulding LH.

  6. INSTALL ROCKER PANEL MOULDING COVER LH

      Installation Area - -
      1. Clean the rocker panel moulding LH surface:

        1. When reusing the rocker panel moulding LH, remove remaining double-sided tape from the rocker panel moulding LH.

        2. Using a heat light, heat the rocker panel moulding LH surface.

        Standard Value

        Part Temperature
        Rocker Panel Moulding LH 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
        Rocker Panel Moulding Cover LH 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
        WARNING:
        • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
        • Touching the heat light may result in burns.

      2. Using a heat light, heat the rocker panel moulding LH and a new rocker panel moulding cover LH.
        NOTE:

        Do not heat the rocker panel moulding LH and rocker panel moulding cover LH excessively.

      3. Install the rocker panel moulding cover LH in the position shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:

        The application strength of the rocker panel moulding cover LH will weaken if reapplied. If reapplication is necessary, be sure to replace it with a new one.

        HINT: 

        Apply pressure so that it does not lift up from the rocker panel moulding LH.
