DTC B1507: Open in Turn Signal Circuit; DTC B1508: Short in Turn Signal / Hazard Flasher Circuit [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.
    2. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      B1507 and B1508 are output A
      B1507 and B1508 are not output B

    Result: 

    B 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK 

    (Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2015 - 08/2017] , or refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2017 - ] )

    Result: 

    A

  2. INSPECT LIGHTS 
    1. Inspect the illumination of each turn signal light.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      RH side turn signal light does not illuminate A
      LH side turn signal light does not illuminate B

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TURN SIGNAL CIRCUIT RH) 
    1. *: w/ Towing Package
    1. Disconnect the E100 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the A52 headlight assembly RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the I20 outer view mirror assembly RH connector.
    4. Disconnect the L3 rear combination light assembly RH connector.
    5. Disconnect the K24 towing converter connector.*
    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A52-5 (B) - E100-13 (LR) Always Below 1 Ω
      A52-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      I20-4 (TRNR) - E100-13 (LR) Always Below 1 Ω
      I20-17 (-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      L3-4 (TRN) - E100-13 (LR) Always Below 1 Ω
      L3-3 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      K24-3 (RTIN) - E100-13 (LR) Always Below 1 Ω
      E100-13 (LR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG

  4. INSPECT HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Disconnect the A52 headlight assembly RH connector.
    2. Apply battery voltage between the terminals and check the light illumination condition.

  5. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Inspect the outer rear view mirror assembly RH (Refer to INSPECTION [08/2015 - ] ).

    REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] )

    Result: 

    OK

  6. INSPECT REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly RH (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] ).
    2. Install the turn signal light bulb to the rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly RH.
    3. Apply battery voltage between the terminals and check the light illumination condition.

  7. INSPECT TOWING CONVERTER 
    1. Replace the towing converter.
    2. Clear the DTCs.
    3. Check for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

    Result: 

    OK 

    END (TOWING CONVERTER IS DEFECTIVE)

    NG 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] )

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TURN SIGNAL CIRCUIT RH) 
    1. *: w/ Towing Package
    1. Disconnect the E100 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the A52 headlight assembly RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the I23 outer mirror control ECU assembly RH connector.
    4. Disconnect the L3 rear combination light assembly RH connector.
    5. Disconnect the K24 towing converter connector.*
    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A52-5 (B) - E100-13 (LR) Always Below 1 Ω
      A52-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      I23-11 (TRNI) - E100-13 (LR) Always Below 1 Ω
      I23-7 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      L3-4 (TRN) - E100-13 (LR) Always Below 1 Ω
      L3-3 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      K24-3 (RTIN) - E100-13 (LR) Always Below 1 Ω
      E100-13 (LR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TURN SIGNAL CIRCUIT RH) 
    1. Disconnect the I22 outer mirror control ECU assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the I20 outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I22-16 (TRN+) - I20-4 (TRNR) Always Below 1 Ω
      I22-12 (HTR-) - I20-17 (-) Always Below 1 Ω
      I22-16 (TRN+) or I20-4 (TRNR) - I22-12 (HTR-) or I20-17 (-) Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY RH 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TURN SIGNAL CIRCUIT LH) 
    1. *: w/ Towing Package
    1. Disconnect the E100 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the A48 headlight assembly LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the I21 outer view mirror assembly LH connector.
    4. Disconnect the K3 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
    5. Disconnect the K24 towing converter connector.*
    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A48-5 (B) - E100-7 (LL) Always Below 1 Ω
      A48-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      I21-4 (TRNL) - E100-7 (LL) Always Below 1 Ω
      I21-17 (-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      K4-4 (TRN) - E100-7 (LL) Always Below 1 Ω
      K4-3 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      K24-9 (LTIN) - E100-7 (LL) Always Below 1 Ω
      E100-17 (LL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. Inspect the outer rear view mirror sub-assembly LH (Refer to INSPECTION [08/2015 - ] ).

  13. INSPECT EAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly LH (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] ).
    2. Install the turn signal light bulb to the rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly LH.
    3. Apply battery voltage between the terminals and check the light illumination condition.

    1. Replace the towing converter.
    2. Clear the DTCs.
    3. Check for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

  15. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TURN SIGNAL CIRCUIT LH) 
    1. *: w/ Towing Package
    1. Disconnect the E100 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the A48 headlight assembly LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the I21 outer mirror control ECU assembly LH connector.
    4. Disconnect the K4 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
    5. Disconnect the K24 towing converter connector.*
    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A48-5 (B) - E100-7 (LL) Always Below 1 Ω
      A48-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      I26-11 (TRNI) - E100-7 (LL) Always Below 1 Ω
      I26-7 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      K4-4 (TRN) - E100-7 (LL) Always Below 1 Ω
      K4-3 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      K24-9 (LTIN) - E100-7 (LL) Always Below 1 Ω
      E100-7 (LL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      I25-16 (TRN+) - I21-4 (TRNL) Always Below 1 Ω
      I25-12 (HTR-) - I20-17 (-) Always Below 1 Ω
      I25-16 (TRN+) or I21-4 (TRNL) - I25-12 (HTR-) or I21-17 (-) Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPLACE OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY LH
