VSC does not Operate or VSC does not Operate Correctly [06/2017 - 10/2020]: Procedure

  1. BRAKE PROBLEM CHECK 
    1. Check whether the slip indicator light was illuminated when VSC did not operate.

      OK

      The slip indicator light was illuminated.

      HINT: 

      When a DTC is stored, the slip indicator light is illuminated and VSC does not operate due to the fail-safe function.

    2. Check whether the vehicle speed was 15 km/h (9 mph) or less when VSC did not operate.

      OK

      The vehicle speed was 15 km/h (9 mph) or less.

      HINT: 

      VSC does not operate when the vehicle speed is 15 km/h (9 mph) or less.

    3. Check whether the vehicle was driven straight for a few seconds at 15 km/h (9 mph) or more.

      OK

      The vehicle was not driven straight for a few seconds at 15 km/h (9 mph) or more.

      HINT: 

      When the engine switch is turned on (IG), as steering angle sensor zero point calibration is not performed below 15 km/h (9 mph), VSC will not operate until the vehicle is driven straight for a few seconds at 15 km/h (9 mph) or more.

    Result:

  2. CHECK DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC/EPB > Clear DTCs 

    2. Turn the engine switch off.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    4. Check the DTCs (vehicle stability control system) that are output.

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC/EPB > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are not output A
      Vehicle stability control system DTCs are output B

    Result: 

    REPAIR CIRCUITS INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTCS. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [06/2017 - 03/2020]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [03/2020 - 10/2020] 

    Result:

  3. CHECK TIRES 
    1. Check that the tire of each wheel is the correct size.

      Refer to INSPECTION [06/2017 - 09/2019] , or refer to INSPECTION [09/2019 - 03/2020] , or refer to INSPECTION [03/2020 - ]

      OK

      The tire of each wheel is the correct size.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE THE TIRE OF EACH WHEEL WITH THE CORRECT SIZE 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Check that the yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly) has been installed properly.

      Refer to INSTALLATION [06/2017 - 09/2019] , or refer to INSTALLATION [09/2019 - 03/2020] , or refer to INSTALLATION [03/2020 - ]

      OK

      The yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly) is tightened to the specified torque.

      The yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly) is not installed in a tilted position.

      Result

      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    OBTAIN YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR ZERO POINT. Refer to  CALIBRATION [06/2017 - 10/2020]

    INSTALL AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY CORRECTLY. Refer to  INSTALLATION [06/2017 - 09/2019]  , or refer to  INSTALLATION [09/2019 - 03/2020]  , or refer to  INSTALLATION [03/2020 - ]
