Adjustment [03/2017 - ]: Procedure
- INSPECT PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL
- Completely release the parking brake pedal assembly.
- Fully depress the parking brake pedal assembly to engage the parking brake.
- Depress the parking brake pedal assembly again to disengage the parking brake.
- Slowly depress the parking brake pedal assembly using the specified force, and count the number of clicks.
Parking Brake Pedal Travel
7 to 12 notches at 300 N (31 kgf, 67.4 lbf)
If the parking brake pedal travel is not as specified, adjust the parking brake shoe clearance and parking brake pedal travel.
- ADJUST PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL
- Completely release the parking brake pedal assembly.
- Turn the No. 1 wire adjusting nut until the parking brake pedal travel is corrected to within the specified range.
Parking Brake Pedal Travel
7 to 12 notches at 300 N (31 kgf, 67.4 lbf)
NOTE:If the No. 1 wire adjusting nut has been removed from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly, replace the No. 1 wire adjusting nut with a new one.
- Remove the rear wheels.
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 [03/2017 - 06/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 [06/2017 - ]
- Temporarily install the hub nuts to the hub bolts.
HINT:
Make sure to tighten the hub nuts so that the rear disc is secure.
- Remove the parking brake shoe adjusting hole plug.
- Turn the parking brake shoe adjuster and expand the shoes until the disc locks.
Contract Expand - Turn and contract the parking brake shoe adjuster until the rear disc can rotate smoothly.
Standard
Returns 8 notches.
- Check that there is no brake drag against the shoe.
- Operate the parking brake pedal assembly 3 to 4 times.
- Turn the No. 1 wire adjusting nut until the parking brake pedal travel is corrected to be within the specified range.

7 to 12 notches at 300 N (31 kgf, 67.4 lbf)
- Operate the parking brake pedal assembly 3 to 4 times.
- Check the parking brake pedal travel.
Parking Brake Pedal Travel
7 to 12 notches at 300 N (31 kgf, 67.4 lbf)
- Install the parking brake shoe adjusting hole plug.
- Check that the parking brake does not drag.
- Remove the hub nuts from the hub bolts.
- Install the rear wheels.

- INSPECT BRAKE WARNING LIGHT
- When operating the parking brake pedal assembly, check that the brake warning light illuminates.

The brake warning light always illuminates at the first click.
