Removal [06/2017 - 10/2020]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION WARNING:

NOTE:After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
For A25A-FKS: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [06/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [08/2018 - 10/2020]
For 2GR-FKS: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
WARNING:Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTE:When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

- REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

- REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

- DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH
HINT:
Disconnect the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH to the extent that allows the removal of the instrument side panel LH.
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH

- REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE NO. 2 METER HOOD CLUSTER

- DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE NO. 1 METER HOOD CLUSTER

- REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL

- REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY WARNING:
When storing the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.
Deployment Side - Check that the ignition switch is off.
- Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Disengage the 2 claws and separate the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.NOTE:
When separating the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly, do not pull the airbag wire harness.
*a Protective Tape *b Airbag Connector *c Airbag Connector Locking Button Release in this Direction Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, release the airbag connector locking button.
- Disconnect the airbag connector to remove the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.NOTE:
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
