DTC B1500-13: Fuel Sender Circuit Open; DTC B1501-13: Sub Fuel Sender Circuit Open [03/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC (METER / GAUGE SYSTEM) 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Trouble Codes

      Only DTC B1501-13 is output B
      DTC B1500-13 and B1501-13 are output at the same time C

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FUEL SUCTION TUBE WITH PUMP AND GAUGE ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the R44 fuel suction tube with pump and gauge assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the K21 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R44-1 (FV) - K21-15 (FV) Always Below 1 Ω
      R44-2 (FE) - K21-33 (FE) Always Below 1 Ω

    2. Inspect the fuel sender gauge assembly.

  7. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM
