Reassembly [09/2019 - 10/2020]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL REAR BUMPER REINFORCEMENT 
    1. Install the rear bumper reinforcement with the 6 bolts.

      Torque: 29 N*m (296 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf) 

  2. INSTALL REAR BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER (for Type A) 
    1. Engage the 2 guides to install the rear bumper energy absorber as shown in the illustration.

  3. INSTALL REAR BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER (for Type B) 
    1. Engage the 2 guides to install the rear bumper energy absorber as shown in the illustration.

  4. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE SEAL LH 
    1. for Single Type:

      1. Install the 3 clips.
    2. for Dual Type:

      1. Install the 2 clips.
    3. Install the rear bumper side seal LH with 2 new grommets.

  5. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE SEAL RH 
    1. Install the 2 clips.

    2. Install the rear bumper side seal RH with 2 new grommets.

  6. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER RETAINER LH 
    1. Engage the grommet.
    2. Engage the 2 guides to temporarily install the rear bumper upper retainer LH to the rear combination light assembly LH.

    3. Engage the guide and pin as shown in the illustration to temporarily install the rear bumper upper retainer LH and rear combination light assembly LH as a set.

      Install in this Direction
    4. Install the rear combination light assembly with the 2 screws.
    5. Connect the connector.
    6. Install the rear bumper upper retainer LH with the screw.
  7. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER RETAINER RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  8. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER LH 
    1. Engage the guide as shown in the illustration.

    2. Engage the 2 claws.
    3. Engage the 3 clips as shown in the illustration.

    4. Install the rear bumper side retainer LH with the screw.

  9. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  10. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM INNER COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  11. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM INNER COVER RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  12. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  13. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR STRIKER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  14. INSTALL NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  15. INSTALL SPARE WHEEL COVER TRAY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  16. INSTALL SPARE WHEEL COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  17. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PAD 

    HINT: 

    • When installing the rear bumper pad, heat the rear bumper cover using a heat light.
    • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
    HEATING TEMPERATURE

    Item Temperature
    Rear Bumper Cover 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts, touching the heat light may result in burns.
    • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

    NOTE:

    Do not heat the rear bumper cover excessively.

    1. Clean the rear bumper cover surface.
      1. Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper cover surface.
      2. Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the rear bumper cover.
      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
    2. Remove the release paper from a new rear bumper pad.

      HINT: 

      After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

    3. Install the rear bumper pad as shown in the illustration.

      HINT: 

      Press the rear bumper pad firmly to install it.

  18. INSTALL LOWER REAR BUMPER COVER (for Type A) 
    1. Engage the 12 claws.

    2. Install the 2 clips.

    3. Install the lower rear bumper cover with the 2 screws.
  19. INSTALL REAR BUMPER CORNER EXTENSION LH (for Type B) 
    1. Engage the 4 guides and 4 claws to install the rear bumper corner extension LH.

  20. INSTALL REAR BUMPER CORNER EXTENSION RH (for Type B) 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  21. INSTALL REAR BUMPER EXTENSION MOULDING LH (for Type B) 
    1. except TRD:
      1. Engage the 4 claws to install the rear bumper extension moulding LH.

  22. INSTALL REAR BUMPER EXTENSION MOULDING RH (for Type B) 

    except TRD:

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  23. INSTALL REAR SPOILER (for Type B) 

    HINT: 

    When installing the rear spoiler, heat the rear bumper cover using a heat light.

    HEATING TEMPERATURE

    Item Temperature
    Rear Bumper Cover 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
    WARNING:

        1. Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper cover surface.
        2. Remove the double-sided tape from the rear bumper cover.

      2. Engage the 6 claws.

      3. Remove the release paper from a new rear spoiler.

        HINT: 

        After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      4. Attach the double-sided tape as shown in the illustration.

        Double-sided Tape - -

        HINT: 

        Press the rear spoiler firmly to install it.

      5. Install the 5 screws.

      6. Install the rear spoiler with the 4 screws.

        HINT: 

        Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

      7. Install the clip and rear bumper piece.

  24. INSTALL REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Engage the guide and claw.

    2. Install the reflex reflector assembly LH with the screw.

  25. INSTALL REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  26. INSTALL NO. 2 LUGGAGE ROOM WIRE (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 
  27. INSTALL REAR CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  28. INSTALL REAR CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  29. INSTALL REAR CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System)
