Removal [06/2017 - 10/2020]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [06/2017 - 09/2019] , or refer to PRECAUTION [09/2019 - 03/2020] , or refer to PRECAUTION [03/2020 - ]

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    For A25A-FKS:

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [06/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [08/2018 - 10/2020]

    For 2GR-FKS:

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  3. REMOVE REAR DOOR ARMREST COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [06/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [08/2018 - 10/2020]

  4. REMOVE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH REAR DOOR UPPER ARMREST BASE PANEL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [06/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [08/2018 - 10/2020]

  5. REMOVE REAR ARMREST ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [06/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [08/2018 - 10/2020]

  6. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [06/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [08/2018 - 10/2020]

  7. REMOVE REAR DOOR INNER GLASS WEATHERSTRIP 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [06/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [08/2018 - 10/2020]

  8. REMOVE REAR DOOR NO. 2 SERVICE HOLE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [06/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [08/2018 - 10/2020]

  9. REMOVE REAR DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12 [06/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12 [08/2018 - 10/2020]

  10. REMOVE REAR DOOR NO. 1 VENT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [06/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [08/2018 - 10/2020]

  11. REMOVE REAR DOOR PANEL PROTECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14 [06/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14 [08/2018 - 10/2020]

  12. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS RUN 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [06/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [08/2018 - 10/2020]

  13. DISCONNECT REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP 
    1. Disconnect the rear door weatherstrip until the screw of the rear door rear lower window frame sub-assembly is visible.
  14. REMOVE REAR DOOR REAR LOWER WINDOW FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18 [06/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18 [08/2018 - 10/2020]

  15. REMOVE REAR DOOR QUARTER WINDOW GLASS 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19 [06/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19 [08/2018 - 10/2020]

  16. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20 [06/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20 [08/2018 - 10/2020]

  17. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 3 screws.

      *a Release Plate
      Remove in this Direction
    2. Move the rear door lock with motor assembly downward to disconnect it from the release plate of the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly, and remove the rear door lock with motor assembly.
    3. When reusing the rear door lock with motor assembly:
      1. Remove the door lock wiring harness seal from the rear door lock with motor assembly.

  18. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disengage the 2 claws to remove the rear door lock cover sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  19. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the rear door lock remote control cable assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Remove in this Direction
  20. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE LOCKING CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the rear door inside locking cable assembly as shown in the illustration.
