Removal [06/2017 - 10/2020]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [06/2017 - 09/2019] , or refer to PRECAUTION [09/2019 - 03/2020] , or refer to PRECAUTION [03/2020 - ]

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [06/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2018 - 09/2019] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2019 - 03/2020] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [03/2020 - 10/2020]

  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the front seat headrest assembly from the front seat assembly.
  4. REMOVE FRONT OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER 
    1. Operate the seat track adjusting handle and move the front seat assembly to the rearmost position.
    2. Disengage the claw to remove the front outer seat track bracket cover.

  5. REMOVE FRONT INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER 
    1. Disengage the claw to remove the front inner seat track bracket cover.

      Remove in this Direction
  6. REMOVE REAR OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER 
    1. Operate the seat track adjusting handle and move the front seat assembly to the foremost position.
    2. Disengage the claw to remove the rear outer seat track bracket cover.

  7. REMOVE REAR INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER 
    1. Disengage the claw to remove the rear inner seat track bracket cover.

  8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY

      Using a T50 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 bolts on the rear side of the front seat assembly.

    2. Operate the seat track adjusting handle and move the front seat assembly to the rearmost position.

      Using a T50 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 bolts on the front side of the front seat assembly.

    4. Operate the vertical adjusting handle and move the front seat assembly to the uppermost position.
    5. Operate the seat track adjusting handle and move the front seat assembly to the center position.
    6. Operate the reclining adjuster release handle and move the seatback to the upright position.
    7. Disconnect the front seat airbag assembly connector under the front seat assembly.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

      1. Push down the white housing lock and slide the yellow CPA. (At this time, the connector cannot be disconnected yet.)

        Slide
      2. Push down the white housing lock again and disconnect the connector.
        NOTE:

        Do not push down the part (A) shown in the illustration when disconnecting the connector.

    8. Disconnect each connector and disengage each clamp under the front seat assembly.
    9. Remove the front seat assembly.
      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
