Rear Door Courtesy Switch Circuit [03/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Data List

      RR Door Courtesy SW Rear door courtesy light switch assembly RH signal OFF or ON OFF: Rear door RH closed

  2. INSPECT REAR DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the rear door courtesy light switch assembly RH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [03/2017 - 06/2017] , or refer to REMOVAL [06/2017 - 09/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2019 - 10/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2020 - ]

    2. Inspect the rear door courtesy light switch assembly RH.

      Refer to INSPECTION [03/2017 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE REAR DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2017 - 06/2017]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [06/2017 - 09/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2019 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY RH - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the 3A instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R6-1 - 3A-31 Always Below 1 Ω
      R6-1 or 3A-31 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  4. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

    (Instrument Panel Junction Block Assembly)
    - -
    1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [03/2017 - 06/2017] , or refer to REMOVAL [06/2017 - 10/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2020 - ]

    2. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [03/2017 - 06/2017] , or refer to REMOVAL [06/2017 - 10/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2020 - ]

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3A-31 - MB-2 (RCTY) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2017 - 06/2017]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [06/2017 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2017 - 06/2017]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [06/2017 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - ] 

  5. INSPECT REAR DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the rear door courtesy light switch assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [03/2017 - 06/2017] , or refer to REMOVAL [06/2017 - 09/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2019 - 10/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2020 - ]

    2. Inspect the rear door courtesy light switch assembly LH.

      Refer to INSPECTION [03/2017 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE REAR DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2017 - 06/2017]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [06/2017 - 09/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2019 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY LH - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the 3D instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R7-1 - 3D-24 Always Below 1 Ω
      R7-1 or 3D-24 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  7. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [03/2017 - 06/2017] , or refer to REMOVAL [06/2017 - 10/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2020 - ]

    2. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [03/2017 - 06/2017] , or refer to REMOVAL [06/2017 - 10/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2020 - ]

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3D-24 - MB-13 (LCTY) Always Below 1 Ω

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2017 - 06/2017]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [06/2017 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG
