Inside Handle Illumination Light Circuit [06/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Interior Illumination Light2 Inside handle illumination light (No. 1 interior illumination light assembly) OFF or ON Preconditions for using the Active Test to check dimmer controlled illumination:
      • Ignition switch ON
      • Shift lever is in any position other than P

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test

      OK

      Inside handle illumination lights come on.

  2. INSPECT NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the inside handle illumination light LH (No. 1 interior illumination light assembly LH).

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2017 - 09/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2019 - ]

    2. Inspect the inside handle illumination light LH (No. 1 interior illumination light assembly LH).

      Refer to INSPECTION [06/2017 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LIGHT LH (NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH). Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2017 - 09/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2019 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY - NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Disconnect the 3B instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3B-26 - O14-2 (+) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)) 
    1. Disconnect the K53 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O14-1 (-) - K53-21 (LED2) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [06/2017 - 08/2018]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2018 - 09/2019]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2019 - 03/2020]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [03/2020 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2020 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  5. INSPECT NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the inside handle illumination light RH (No. 1 interior illumination light assembly RH).

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2017 - 09/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2019 - ]

    2. Inspect the inside handle illumination light RH (No. 1 interior illumination light assembly RH).

      Refer to INSPECTION [06/2017 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LIGHT RH (NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH). Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2017 - 09/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2019 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY - NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Disconnect the 3B instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3B-26 - N14-2 (+) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)) 
    1. Disconnect the K53 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N14-1 (-) - K53-21 (LED2) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK.     REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the 3F instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3F-1 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  9. CHECK INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the 3B instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      3B-26 - 3F-1 Always Below 1 Ω

    Result:

    REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2017 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - ]

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY - NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the O14 inside handle illumination light LH (No. 1 interior illumination light assembly LH) connector.
    2. Disconnect the N14 inside handle illumination light RH (No. 1 interior illumination light assembly RH) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3B-26 - O14-2 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      3B-26 - N14-2 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      3B-26, O14-2 (+) or N14-2 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)) 
    1. Disconnect the K53 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O14-1 (-) - K53-21 (LED2) Always Below 1 Ω
      N14-1 (-) - K53-21 (LED2) Always Below 1 Ω
      O14-1 (-), N14-1 (-) or K53-21 (LED2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2017 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - ]
