Microphone Circuit between Microphone and Radio Receiver [03/2017 - 06/2017]: Procedure

  1. CHECK MICROPHONE (OPERATION CHECK) 
    1. Enter the "Microphone Check" screen. Refer to Check Microphone in Operation Check.

      Refer to OPERATION CHECK [03/2017 - 06/2017]

    2. When a voice is input into the microphone, check that the microphone input level meter changes according to the input voice.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - ROOF CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the K2 radio and display receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the V14 roof console box sub-assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K2-25 (SNS2) - V14-6 (SNS2) Always Below 1 Ω
      K2-23 (MACC) - V14-9 (MACC) Always Below 1 Ω

  5. INSPECT ROOF CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY (OUTPUT TO RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Connect the K2 radio and display receiver assembly connector.
    2. Connect the V14 roof console box sub-assembly connector.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ACC.
    4. Connect an oscilloscope to terminals 8 (MCO+) and 7 (MCO-) of the V14 roof console box sub-assembly connector.

    5. Check the signal waveform according to the condition(s) in the table below.
      Item Condition
      Measurement terminal V14-8 (MCO+) - V14-7 (MCO-)
      Tool setting 50 mV/DIV., 500 ms/DIV.
      Vehicle condition
      1. Turn the ignition switch to ACC.
      2. Sound is input to the roof console box sub-assembly when the user is closer than 125 mm from the roof console box sub-assembly sound holes.

    1. Remove the roof console box sub-assembly.

    2. Disconnect the MI2 telephone microphone assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
