Skid Control ECU Communication Stop Mode [06/2017 - 10/2020]: Procedure

  1. CHECK VEHICLE TYPE 
    1. Check vehicle type.

  2. CHECK DTC (VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRAC/EPB / Trouble Codes.

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC/EPB > Trouble Codes 

    5. Check that DTC C1241 which indicates a malfunction in the power source circuit of the vehicle stability control system is not stored by the vehicle stability control system.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC C1241 is not output A
      DTC C1241 is output B

    Result: 

    GO TO DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTC. Refer to  DTC C1241: Low Power Supply Voltage Malfunction [06/2017 - 10/2020]

  3. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY BRANCH LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the A33 brake actuator assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A33-26 (CANH) - A33-14 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH LINES OR CONNECTOR (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY)

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A33-38 (GND1) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal Below 1 Ω

    2. Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A33-28 (IG1) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

      NG

    REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2017 - 10/2020]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 

  5. CHECK DTC (VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRAC/EPB / Trouble Codes.

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC/EPB > Trouble Codes 

    5. Check that DTC C1241 which indicates a malfunction in the power source circuit of the vehicle stability control system is not stored by the vehicle stability control system.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC C1241 is not output A
      DTC C1241 is output B

    Result: 

    GO TO DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTC. Refer to  DTC C1241: Low Power Supply Voltage Malfunction [06/2017 - 10/2020]

  6. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY BRANCH LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the A34 brake actuator assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A34-5 (CANH) - A34-19 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      A34-46 (GND1) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal Below 1 Ω

    2. Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
