DTC B1820/55: Short in Side Squib RH Circuit; DTC B1821/55: Open in Side Squib RH Circuit; DTC B1822/55: Short to GND in Side Squib RH Circuit; DTC B1823/55: Short to B+ in Side Squib RH Circuit [02/2017 - 10/2017]: Description

The side squib RH circuit consists of the airbag sensor assembly and front seat airbag assembly RH.

The airbag sensor assembly uses this circuit to deploy the airbag when deployment conditions are met.

These DTCs are stored when a malfunction is detected in the side squib RH circuit.

DTC No. Detection Item DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area Test Mode / Check Mode
B1820/55 Short in Side Squib RH Circuit Any of the following conditions is met:
  • The airbag sensor assembly detects a line short in the side squib RH circuit during the primary check.
  • Side squib RH malfunction
  • Airbag sensor assembly malfunction
  • Floor wire
  • Side squib RH (Front seat airbag assembly RH)
  • Airbag sensor assembly
Applies to check mode
B1821/55 Open in Side Squib RH Circuit Any of the following conditions is met:
  • The airbag sensor assembly detects an open in the side squib RH circuit.
  • Side squib RH malfunction
  • Airbag sensor assembly malfunction
  • Floor wire
  • Side squib RH (Front seat airbag assembly RH)
  • Airbag sensor assembly
Applies to check mode
B1822/55 Short to GND in Side Squib RH Circuit Any of the following conditions is met:
  • The airbag sensor assembly detects a short to ground in the side squib RH circuit.
  • Side squib RH malfunction
  • Airbag sensor assembly malfunction
  • Floor wire
  • Side squib RH (Front seat airbag assembly RH)
  • Airbag sensor assembly
Applies to check mode
B1823/55 Short to B+ in Side Squib RH Circuit Any of the following conditions is met:
  • The airbag sensor assembly detects a short to B+ in the side squib RH circuit.
  • Side squib RH malfunction
  • Airbag sensor assembly malfunction
  • Floor wire
  • Side squib RH (Front seat airbag assembly RH)
  • Airbag sensor assembly
