Front Fog Light Circuit [08/2020 - 12/2021]: Procedure

  1. CHECK OPERATION (TAILLIGHTS) 
    1. Check the operation of the taillights.

      OK

      Taillights operate normally.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2020 - 12/2021] 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test

      Front Fog Light Relay Front fog lights ON/OFF Light control switch in tail position

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FR FOG RELAY - BATTERY) 
    1. Remove the FR FOG relay from the No. 4 relay block assembly.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the chart below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Relay terminal 5 -Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FR FOG RELAY INPUT VOLTAGE) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the chart below.

      Standard Voltage

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FR FOG RELAY - FOG LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH AND FOG LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Disconnect the B15*1 or B13*2 fog light assembly LH connector.
      1. *1: for LED Fog Light
      2. *1: for Halogen Fog Light
    2. Disconnect the B16*1 or B14*2 fog light assembly RH connector.
      1. *1: for LED Fog Light
      2. *1: for Halogen Fog Light
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the chart below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Relay terminal 3 - B15-2 (B)*1 Always Below 1 Ω
      Relay terminal 3 - B13-1 (B)*2 Always Below 1 Ω
      Relay terminal 3 - B16-2 (B)*1 Always Below 1 Ω

    1. Disconnect the B16 fog light assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the B15 fog light assembly RH connector.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the chart below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Relay terminal 3 - B16-2 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      Relay terminal 3 - B15-2 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      Relay terminal 3 or B16-2 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Relay terminal 3 or B15-2 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. Disconnect the 3A instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the chart below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Relay terminal 1 - 3A-52 Always Below 1 Ω
      Relay terminal 1 or 3A-52 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  9. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - 12/2021]

    2. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the chart below.

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - 12/2021]

    REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - 12/2021] 

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FR FOG RELAY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the 3D instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the chart below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Relay terminal 2 - 3D-11 Always Below 1 Ω
      Relay terminal 2 or 3D-11 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - 12/2021]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
