Clearance Light/Daytime Running Light Circuit [09/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK OPERATION (CLEARANCE LIGHS) 
    1. Check the operation of the clearance lights.

      OK

      The clearance lights operate normally.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [09/2019 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2020 - 12/2021]  , or refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [12/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.
    4. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test

      Daytime Running Light Daytime running lights ON or OFF -

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test

      Daytime Running Light

      OK

      Daytime running lights illuminate.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the A88 headlight unit assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the A89 headlight unit assembly RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the 1B No. 1 Integration Relay connector.
    4. Disconnect the 3F instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the chart below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A88-4 (B) - 1B-10 Always Below 1 Ω
      A89-4 (B) - 1B-10 Always Below 1 Ω
      A88-4 (B) or 1B-10 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A89-4 (B) or 1B-10 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1B-12 - 3F-28 Always Below 1 Ω
      1B-12 or 3F-28 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. INSPECT NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY (DRL RELAY) 
    1. Remove the No. 1 integration relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block.

      Refer to REMOVAL [02/2017 - 08/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]

    2. Inspect the No. 1 integration relay.

      OK

      No. 1 integration relay is normal.

      Refer to INSPECTION [02/2017 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2017 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]

  5. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

    *a Component without harness connected
    (Instrument Panel Junction Block Assembly)
    - -
    1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2017 - 08/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to REMOVAL [12/2021 - ]

    2. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the chart below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3F-28 - MB-25 (DRL) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2017 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - 12/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [12/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2017 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - 12/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [12/2021 - ]
