DTC C1A71: Power Steering Control Torque [02/2017 - 08/2020]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (POWER STEERING SYSTEM) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / EMPS / Trouble Codes.
    5. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [02/2017 - 10/2017] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2017 - 12/2021]

      Chassis > EMPS > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Power steering system DTCs are not output. A
      Power steering system DTCs are output. B

    Result: 

    GO TO POWER STEERING SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [02/2017 - 10/2017]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2017 - 12/2021] 

    Result:

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / LKA/LDA / Trouble Codes.
    5. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [02/2017 - 08/2020]

      Chassis > LKA/LDA > Clear DTCs 

    6. Make sure the following conditions are met.

      HINT: 

      If the following procedure is not performed, the previously output DTC cannot be detected.

      1. Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait 77 seconds or more.
      2. Drive the vehicle at 5 km/h (3 mph) or more.
    7. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [02/2017 - 08/2020]

      Chassis > LKA/LDA > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC C1A71 is not output. A
      DTC C1A71 is output. B

    Result: 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [02/2017 - 10/2017]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2017 - 05/2018]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [05/2018 - 09/2019]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2019 - 08/2020] 

    Result:

  3. REPLACE FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA 
    1. Replace the forward recognition camera.

      Refer to REMOVAL [02/2017 - 08/2020]

    2. Adjust the forward recognition camera.

      Refer to ADJUSTMENT (SEQUENTIAL RECOGNITION) [02/2017 - 08/2020]

  4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / LKA/LDA / Trouble Codes.
    5. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [02/2017 - 08/2020]

      Chassis > LKA/LDA > Clear DTCs 

    6. Make sure the following conditions are met.

      HINT:

    REPLACE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2017 - 08/2020]
