Electric Parking Brake System AUTO Function Circuit [02/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check if CAN communication system DTCs are output.

      Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [02/2017 - 10/2017] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [10/2017 - 05/2018] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [05/2018 - 09/2019] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [09/2019 - 08/2020] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [12/2021 - ]

      Result

      DTCs are not output A
      DTCs are output B

    GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [02/2017 - 05/2018]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [05/2018 - 09/2019]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2019 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2020 - ]

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (AUTO MODE) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRAC/EPB / Data List.
    6. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC/EPB > Data List

    7. When switching the mode, check that the Data List display turns on and off.

  3. INSPECT ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH (ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Inspect the electric parking brake switch (electric parking brake switch assembly).

      Refer to INSPECTION [02/2017 - ]

      Result

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH (ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2017 - ]

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) - ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH (ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY)) 
    1. Disconnect the F67 electric parking brake switch (electric parking brake switch assembly) connector.
    2. Disconnect the A42 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the chart below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A42-31 (SWI1) - F67-6 (SWI1) Always Below 5 Ω
      A42-32 (SWO1) - F67-5 (SWO1) Always Below 5 Ω
      A42-15 (SWI2) - F67-4 (SWI2) Always Below 5 Ω
      A42-16 (SWO2) - F67-3 (SWO2) Always Below 5 Ω
      A42-31 (SWI1) or F67-6 (SWI1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A42-32 (SWO1) or F67-5 (SWO1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A42-15 (SWI2) or F67-4 (SWI2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A42-16 (SWO2) or F67-3 (SWO2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  5. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SHIFT POSITION) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRAC/EPB / Data List.
    6. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC/EPB > Data List

      Shift Position Shift lever position information "P, N", R, D/M, 1st-6th/B or Fail Actual shift lever position -

      On the Techstream screen, ON or OFF is displayed accordingly.

  6. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (STOP LIGHT SW) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRAC/EPB / Data List.
    6. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC/EPB > Data List

  7. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DOOR COURTESY SW) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical > Main Body > Data List
    6. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Data List

      FL Door Courtesy SW Front door courtesy light switch assembly LH ON or OFF ON: Front door LH open
      OFF: Front door LH closed      		 If this item does not change according to the actual state of the driver door, there is a malfunction in the door courtesy light switch or related part.

      The Data List item changes in accordance with the opening and closing of the driver door.

  8. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (D SEAT BUCKLE SW) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical > Main Body > Data List
    6. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Data List
