Reassembly [09/2019 - 12/2021]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL REAR BUMPER ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for Type A) 
    1. Install the rear bumper arm sub-assembly LH with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 18 N*m (184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf) 

  2. INSTALL REAR BUMPER ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (for Type A) 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  3. INSTALL REAR BUMPER REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Type A) 
    1. Engage the guides to install the rear bumper reinforcement sub-assembly.

    2. Install the 6 bolts.

      Torque: 34 N*m (347 kgf*cm, 25 ft.*lbf) 

  4. INSTALL REAR BUMPER REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Type B) 
    1. Install the rear bumper reinforcement sub-assembly with the 8 bolts.

      Torque: 18 N*m (184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf) 

  5. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER RETAINER LH 
    1. Install the rear bumper upper retainer LH with screw.

  6. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER RETAINER RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  7. INSTALL REAR COMBINATION LIGHT LH 
  8. INSTALL REAR COMBINATION LIGHT RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  9. INSTALL REAR COMBINATION LIGHT COVER LH 
  10. INSTALL REAR COMBINATION LIGHT COVER RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  11. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER LH 
    1. Engage the guide and claw to install rear bumper side retainer LH as shown in the illustration.

      Install in this Direction (1)
      Install in this Direction (2)
    2. Install the 2 screws.

  12. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  13. INSTALL REAR BUMPER CENTER GUARD 
    1. Engage the guides and claws to install the rear bumper center guard.

    2. Install the 2 clips and 6 outside moulding retainers.

  14. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE STAY LH 
    1. Engage the claw to install the rear bumper side stay LH as shown in the illustration.

      Install in this Direction
    2. Install the clip and screw.
  15. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE STAY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  16. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PAD LH 

    HINT: 

    When installing the rear bumper pad LH, heat the rear bumper assembly using a heat light.

    HEATING TEMPERATURE

    Item Temperature
    Rear Bumper Assembly 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts, touching the heat light may result in burns.
    • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

    NOTE:

    Do not heat the rear bumper assembly excessively.

    1. Clean the rear bumper assembly surface.
      1. Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper assembly surface.
      2. Remove the double-sided tape from the rear bumper assembly.
      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
    2. Remove the release paper from a new rear bumper pad LH.

      HINT: 

      After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

    3. Install the rear bumper pad LH as shown in the illustration.

      HINT: 

      Install the rear bumper pad LH along the scrided line on the rear bumper cover.

  17. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PAD RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  18. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PAD 

    HINT: 

    When installing the rear bumper pad, heat the rear bumper assembly using a heat light.

    HEATING TEMPERATURE

    Item Temperature
    Rear Bumper Reinforcement Sub-assembly (for TMC Made) 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
    Rear Bumper Assembly (for TMMT Made) 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts, touching the heat light may result in burns.
    • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

    NOTE:

    Do not heat the rear bumper reinforcement sub-assembly (for TMC Made) or rear bumper assembly (for TMMT Made) excessively.

    1. Clean the rear bumper reinforcement sub-assembly (for TMC Made) or rear bumper assembly (for TMMT Made) surface.
      1. Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper reinforcement sub-assembly (for TMC Made) or rear bumper assembly (for TMMT Made) surface.
      2. Remove the double-sided tape from the rear bumper reinforcement sub-assembly (for TMC Made) or rear bumper assembly (for TMMT Made).
      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
    2. Remove the release paper from a new rear bumper pad.

      HINT: 

      After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

    3. for TMC Made:
      1. Install the rear bumper pad as shown in the illustration.

        *a Location Point

        HINT: 

        Install the rear bumper pad corner the location point on the rear bumper reinforcement sub-assembly.

    4. for TMMT Made:
      1. Install the rear bumper pad as shown in the illustration.

        *a Scribed Line

        HINT: 

        Install the rear bumper pad along the scrided line on the rear bumper center guard.

  19. INSTALL NO. 1 REAR BUMPER PLATE 
    1. Engage the hook.

    2. Engage the claws to install the No. 1 rear bumper plate.
  20. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PLATE LH 
    1. Engage the claws to install the rear bumper plate LH as shown in the illustration.

      Install in this Direction
    2. Install the 2 screws.
  21. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PLATE RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  22. INSTALL REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Engage the guide and claw to install the reflex reflector assembly LH as shown in the illustration.

      Install in this Direction
    2. Install the screw.
  23. INSTALL REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  24. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER COVER LH

    1. Engage the hook to install the rear bumper upper cover LH.
  25. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER COVER RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  26. INSTALL NO. 6 FLOOR WIRE (w/ Wire Harness) 
    1. Engage the clamps to install the No. 6 floor wire.

  27. INSTALL FOG LIGHT BRACKET (for Bulb Type Back-up Light) 
    1. Engage the guides to install the fog light bracket.

    2. Install the 2 screws.
  28. INSTALL BACK-UP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (for LED Type Back-up Light) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1
