Data List / Active Test [08/2020 - ]

  1. DATA LIST 
    NOTE:

    In the chart below, the values listed under "Normal Condition" are reference values. Do not depend solely on these reference values when deciding whether a part is faulty or not.

    HINT: 

    Using the Techstream to read the Data List allows the values or states of switches, sensors, actuators and other items to be read without removing any parts. This non-intrusive inspection can be very useful because intermittent conditions or signals may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Reading the Data List information early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time.

    1. Warm up the engine.
    2. Turn the ignition switch off.
    3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    4. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    5. Turn the Techstream on.
    6. Enter the following menus:
      1. for Combination Meter: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
      2. for ABS/VSC/TRAC/EPB: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRAC/EPB / Data List.
      3. for Engine: Powertrain / Engine / Data List.
    7. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
      1. Combination Meter

      3. Engine and ECT

        Coolant Temp Engine coolant temperature Min.: -40°C (-40°F), Max.: 140°C (284°F) 75 to 100°C (167 to 212°F): After warming up engine This is the engine coolant temperature.
        HINT: 
        • After warming up the engine, the engine coolant temperature is 75 to 100°C (167 to 212°F).
        • After a long soak, the engine coolant temperature, intake air temperature and ambient temperature are approximately equal.
        • If the value is -40°C (-40°F), or 135°C (275°F), the sensor circuit is open or shorted.
        • Check if the engine overheats when the value indicates 135°C (275°F).
  2. ACTIVE TEST 

    HINT: 

    Using the Techstream to perform Active Tests allows relays, VSVs, actuators and other items to be operated without removing any parts. This non-intrusive functional inspection can be very useful because intermittent operation may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Performing Active Tests early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. Data List information can be displayed while performing Active Tests.

    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Active Test
