Hazard Warning Switch Circuit [09/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Hazard Flasher Switch Hazard warning signal switch signal ON or OFF ON: Hazard warning signal switch on
      OFF: Hazard warning signal switch off

      Normal conditions listed above are displayed.

      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [09/2019 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2020 - 12/2021]  , or refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [12/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. INSPECT HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the hazard warning signal switch assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [02/2017 - ]

    2. Inspect the hazard warning signal switch assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [02/2017 - ]

      OK

      Hazard warning signal switch assembly is normal.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2017 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY OR BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the F5 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the chart below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F62-4 (TB) - F5-3 (HAZ) Always Below 1 Ω
      F62-4 (TB) or F5-3 (HAZ) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F62-1 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2017 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
