DTC B166A/72: Pressure Sensor Difference for Front Door [02/2017 - 09/2019]: Procedure

1. Check for DTCs.

   Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [02/2017 - 09/2019]

   Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Trouble Codes 

   OK

   DTCs B1623/81, B1633/81, B1642/81, B1643/81, B166D/81, B166E/81, B1628/82, B1638/82, B1647/82, B1648/82, B167B/82 and B167C/82 are not output.

   HINT: 

   If DTC B1623/81, B1633/81, B1642/81, B1643/81, B166D/81, B166E/81, B1628/82, B1638/82, B1647/82, B1648/82, B167B/82 or B167C/82 is output, perform troubleshooting for the DTC first.

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

Result: 

NG 

GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [02/2017 - 10/2017]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2017 - 09/2019] 

Result: 

OK

1. Turn the ignition switch off.
2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
   WARNING:

   Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

3. Replace the door side airbag sensor LH with a known good one.

   Refer to REMOVAL [02/2017 - 08/2020]

   HINT: 

   Perform the following inspection using known good parts from another vehicle if possible.

4. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
5. Clear the DTCs stored in memory.

   Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [02/2017 - 09/2019]

   Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Clear DTCs 

6. Turn the ignition switch off.
7. Turn the ignition switch ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
8. Check for DTCs.

   Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [02/2017 - 09/2019]

   Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Trouble Codes 

   OK

   DTC B166A/72 is not output.

   HINT: 

   Codes other than DTC B166A/72 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

9. Turn the ignition switch off.
10. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

11. Restore the door side airbag sensor LH that was installed for testing to its original location.

    Refer to REMOVAL [02/2017 - 08/2020]

    Result

    Proceed to

Result:

REPLACE DOOR SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2017 - 08/2020] 

Result: 

NG

1. Replace the door side airbag sensor RH with a known good one.

   Refer to REMOVAL [02/2017 - 08/2020]

   HINT: 

   Perform the following inspection using known good parts from another vehicle if possible.

2. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

   Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [02/2017 - 09/2019]

   Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Clear DTCs

   Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Trouble Codes 

   OK

   DTC B166A/72 is not output.

   HINT: 

   Codes other than DTC B166A/72 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

7. Turn the ignition switch off.
8. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
   WARNING:

   Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

9. Restore the door side airbag sensor RH that was installed for testing to its original location.

   Refer to REMOVAL [02/2017 - 08/2020]

   Result

   Proceed to

   NG

Result: 

OK 

REPLACE DOOR SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2017 - 08/2020] 

Result: 

NG 

REPLACE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2017 - 10/2017]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2017 - 09/2019]
