DTC B1507: Open in Turn Signal Circuit; DTC B1508: Short in Turn Signal / Hazard Flasher Circuit [09/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT LIGHTS 
    1. Inspect the illumination of each turn signal light.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      RH side turn signal light does not illuminate. A
      LH side turn signal light does not illuminate. B

  2. CHECK TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (RH SIDE) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    2. Set the headlight dimmer switch assembly to the right turn switch position.
    3. Check the operation of the turn signal lights (RH side).

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Front turn signal light assembly (RH side) does not blink. A
      Side turn signal light assembly (RH side) does not blink. B
      Rear turn signal light assembly (RH side) does not blink (for Bulb Type). C
      Rear turn signal light assembly (RH side) does not blink (for LED Type). D

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY OR BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the A89 headlight assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the F5 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the chart below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A89-2 (B) - F5-7 (LR) Always Below 1 Ω
      A89-5 (E) - Body ground*1 Always Below 1 Ω
      A89-6 (E) - Body ground*2 Always Below 1 Ω
      1. *1: for Triple Beam Headlight
      2. *2: for Single Beam Headlight

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A89-2 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2017 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY OR BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the I8 outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the F5 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the chart below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I8-1 (B) - F5-7 (LR) Always Below 1 Ω
      I8-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I8-1 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2017 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY OR BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the M47*1 or o1*2 rear combination light assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the F5 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the chart below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M47-4 (TRN) - F5-5 (TRNR)*1 Always Below 1 Ω
      o1-4 (TRN) - F5-5 (TRNR)*2 Always Below 1 Ω
      M47-3 (E) - Body ground*1 Always Below 1 Ω
      o1-3 (E) - Body ground*2 Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M47-4 (TRN) - Body ground*1 Always 10 kΩ or higher
      o1-4 (TRN) - Body ground*2 Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1. *1: for TMC Made
      2. *2: for TMMT Made

      Result

    Result:

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2017 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH AND REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY OR BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the S15 rear light assembly RH connectors.
    2. Disconnect the o2 rear combination light assembly RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the F5 combination meter assembly connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open):

      REAR LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S15-1 (B) - F5-5 (TRNR) Always Below 1 Ω
      S15-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      o2-5 (TRN) - F5-5 (TRNR) Always Below 1 Ω
      o2-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short):

      REAR LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH

      S15-1 (B) or F5-5 (TRNR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH AND REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the chart below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      o2-3 (TRN2) - S15-5 (TRN3) Always Below 1 Ω
      o2-3 (TRN2) or S15-5 (TRN3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      o2-6 (TRN1) - S15-6 (TRN4) Always Below 1 Ω
      o2-6 (TRN1) or S15-6 (TRN4) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      NG

    Result:

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2017 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  8. CHECK TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (LH SIDE) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    2. Set the headlight dimmer switch assembly to the left turn switch position.
    3. Check the operation of the turn signal lights (LH side).

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Front turn signal light assembly (LH side) does not blink. A
      Side turn signal light assembly (LH side) does not blink. B
      Rear turn signal light assembly (LH side) does not blink (for Bulb Type). C

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the chart below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      A87-2 (B) - F5-13 (LL) Always Below 1 Ω
      A87-5 (E) - Body ground*1 Always Below 1 Ω
      A87-6 (E) - Body ground*2 Always Below 1 Ω
      1. *1: for Triple Beam Headlight
      2. *2: for Single Beam Headlight

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A87-2 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2017 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY OR BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the J7 outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the F5 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the chart below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J7-1 (B) - F5-13 (LL) Always Below 1 Ω
      J7-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J7-1 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2017 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY OR BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the M48*1 or q1*2 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the F5 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the chart below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M48-4 (TRN) - F5-6 (TRNL)*1 Always Below 1 Ω
      q1-4 (TRN) - F5-6 (TRNL)*2 Always Below 1 Ω
      M48-3 (E) - Body ground*1 Always Below 1 Ω
      q1-3 (E) - Body ground*2 Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M48-4 (TRN) - Body ground*1 Always 10 kΩ or higher
      q1-4 (TRN) - Body ground*2 Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1. *1: for TMC Made
      2. *2: for TMMT Made

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2017 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  12. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH AND REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY OR BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the S16 rear light assembly LH connectors.
    2. Disconnect the q2 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the F5 combination meter assembly connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      REAR LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S16-1 (B) - F5-6 (TRNL) Always Below 1 Ω
      S16-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH
