DTC C0506-49: Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor Internal Electronic Failure [08/2021 -]: Procedure

  1. CHECK VEHICLE 
    1. Check if the vehicle is equipped with AVS.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SENSOR CIRCUIT) 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

    2. Disconnect the A59 front speed sensor RH connector.
    3. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    4. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    5. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A59-1 (FR+) - A59-2 (FR-) Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SENSOR POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

      The connector is securely connected.

    2. Disconnect the A59 front speed sensor RH connector.
    3. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A59-1 (FR+) - Body ground Engine switch off Below 1.5 V

      Result

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SPEED SENSOR RH - BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

    2. Disconnect the A28 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    3. Disconnect the A59 front speed sensor RH connector.
    4. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A59-2 (FR-) or A28-26 (FR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SPEED SENSOR RH - BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

      The connector is securely connected.

    2. Disconnect the A28 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    3. Disconnect the A59 front speed sensor RH connector.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    5. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A59-1 (FR+) - Body ground Always Below 1.5 V

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SENSOR POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

    2. Disconnect the A59 front speed sensor RH connector.

    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

    2. Disconnect the A28 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    3. Disconnect the A59 front speed sensor RH connector.
    4. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A59-2 (FR-) - A28-26 (FR-) Always Below 1 Ω
      A59-1 (FR+) or A28-21 (FR+) - A59-2 (FR-) - A28-26 (FR-) Always 10 kΩ or higher

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SPEED SENSOR RH - BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

    2. Disconnect the A28 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    3. Disconnect the A59 front speed sensor RH connector.
    4. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A59-1 (FR+) - A28-21 (FR+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A59-1 (FR+) or A28-21 (FR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SENSOR CIRCUIT) 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

      The connector is securely connected.

    2. Disconnect the z16 skid control sensor with suspension control wire RH connector.
    3. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    4. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    5. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z16-1 (FR+) - z16-2 (FR-) Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

  12. INSPECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WITH SUSPENSION CONTROL WIRE RH 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

    2. Disconnect the z16 skid control sensor with suspension control wire RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the A58 skid control sensor with suspension control wire RH connector.
    4. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      No deformation or corrosion.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z16-2 (FR-) or A58-5 (FR-) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

    2. Disconnect the A28 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    3. Disconnect the A58 skid control sensor with suspension control wire RH connector.
    4. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      A58-5 (FR-) or A28-26 (FR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

    2. Disconnect the A28 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    3. Disconnect the A58 skid control sensor with suspension control wire RH connector.
    4. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
