Removal [08/2021 - ]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION NOTE:
After turning the engine switch (for Gasoline Model) or power switch (for HV Model) off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

- REMOVE LUGGAGE TRIM SERVICE HOLE COVER (for HV Model)
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
- REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Seat Heater System)
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1
- REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT INNER TRIM PAD (w/ Seat Heater System)
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL
for A25A-FXS:
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3
for 2GR-FKS:
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
for A25A-FKS:
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
- REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY
- Remove the 2 rear seat headrest assemblies.
- DISCONNECT REAR CENTER SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY
- w/ Seat Heater System (for LH Side):
- Disconnect the 2 connectors.
- Disengage the 2 clamps.
- w/ Seat Heater System (for RH Side):
- Disconnect the 2 connectors.
- Disengage the 2 clamps.
- for Gasoline Model 2WD:
- Lift the front edge of the rear seat cushion assembly as shown in the illustration and disengage the 2 rear seat cushion frame hooks on the front side of the rear seat cushion assembly from the rear seat cushion lock hooks.
*a Rear Seat Cushion Frame Hook (Front Side) *b Rear Seat Cushion Frame Hook (Rear Side) Remove in this Direction (1) Remove in this Direction (2) NOTE:Be sure to hold the parts of the seat cushion assembly directly next to the rear seat cushion frame hooks when lifting it. Lifting a different part of the cushion may deform the rear seat cushion frame.
HINT:
When lifting the rear seat cushion assembly, make sure to hold the area shown in the illustration.
- Disengage the 2 rear seat cushion frame hooks on the rear side of the rear seat cushion assembly as shown in the illustration and remove the rear seat cushion assembly.NOTE:
Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
- Lift the front edge of the rear seat cushion assembly as shown in the illustration and disengage the 2 rear seat cushion frame hooks on the front side of the rear seat cushion assembly from the rear seat cushion lock hooks.
- for Gasoline Model AWD:
- Lift the front edge of the rear seat cushion assembly as shown in the illustration and disengage the 2 rear seat cushion frame hooks on the front side of the rear seat cushion assembly from the rear seat cushion lock hooks and remove it.
*a Rear Seat Cushion Frame Hook (Front Side) Remove in this Direction NOTE:- Be sure to hold the parts of the seat cushion assembly directly next to the rear seat cushion frame hooks when lifting it. Lifting a different part of the cushion may deform the rear seat cushion frame.
- Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

When lifting the rear seat cushion assembly, make sure to hold the area shown in the illustration.
- Lift the front edge of the rear seat cushion assembly as shown in the illustration and disengage the 2 rear seat cushion frame hooks on the front side of the rear seat cushion assembly from the rear seat cushion lock hooks and remove it.
- for HV Model:
- Lift the front edge of the rear seat cushion assembly as shown in the illustration and disengage the 2 rear seat cushion frame hooks on the front side of the rear seat cushion assembly from the rear seat cushion lock hooks.NOTE:
Be sure to hold the parts of the seat cushion assembly directly next to the rear seat cushion frame hooks when lifting it. Lifting a different part of the cushion may deform the rear seat cushion frame.

When lifting the rear seat cushion assembly, make sure to hold the area shown in the illustration.
- Disengage the 2 rear seat cushion frame hooks on the rear side of the rear seat cushion assembly as shown in the illustration and remove the rear seat cushion assembly.NOTE:
Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
- Lift the front edge of the rear seat cushion assembly as shown in the illustration and disengage the 2 rear seat cushion frame hooks on the front side of the rear seat cushion assembly from the rear seat cushion lock hooks.
- w/ Seat Heater System (for LH Side):
- REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION LOCK HOOK
- REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH
- REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH
- REMOVE REAR SIDE SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH
- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTE:When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2021 - ]
- Disconnect the rear side seatback assembly LH connector.NOTE:
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
- Push down the white housing lock and slide the yellow CPA. (At this time, the connector cannot be disconnected yet.)
*a White Housing Lock *b Yellow CPA Slide - Push down the white housing lock again and disconnect the connector.NOTE:
Do not push down the part (A) shown in the illustration when disconnecting the connector.
- Push down the white housing lock and slide the yellow CPA. (At this time, the connector cannot be disconnected yet.)
- Remove the bolt.
Remove in this Direction - Disengage the hook and remove the rear side seatback assembly LH as shown in the illustration.NOTE:
Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
- REMOVE REAR SIDE SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH
HINT:
Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
