Adjustment [08/2020 -]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT FRONT DOOR 
    1. Check that the clearance measurements of areas a through n are within each standard range.

      STANDARD CLEARANCE

      Area Measurement Area Measurement
      a 3.25 to 7.25 mm (0.128 to 0.285 in.) b 3.15 to 6.55 mm (0.124 to 0.258 in.)
      c 0.65 to 4.65 mm (0.0256 to 0.183 in.) d 3.25 to 6.65 mm (0.128 to 0.262 in.)
      e -0.35 to 3.65 mm (-0.0138 to 0.144 in.) f 3.15 to 6.55 mm (0.124 to 0.258 in.)
      g -0.15 to 3.85 mm (-0.00591 to 0.152 in.) h 3.15 to 6.55 mm (0.124 to 0.258 in.)
      i 2.1 to 6.1 mm (0.0827 to 0.240 in.) j 4.0 mm (0.157 in.)
      k -1.2 to 1.2 mm (-0.0472 to 0.0472 in.) l 3.65 to 5.3 mm (0.144 to 0.209 in.)
      m 2.8 to 5.2 mm (0.110 to 0.205 in.)   0 mm (0 in.)
  2. ADJUST FRONT DOOR 
    NOTE:

    Make sure to turn the engine switch (for Gasoline Model) or power switch (for HV Model) off before adjusting the door lock strikers.

    1. Remove the 4 clips and front fender seal.

    2. Using SST, loosen the 4 hinge bolts on the vehicle body and adjust the door position.

      • SST: 09812-00020 
    3. Tighten the 4 hinge bolts on the vehicle body after adjustment.

      Torque: 26 N*m (265 kgf*cm, 19 ft.*lbf) 

    4. Loosen the 4 hinge bolts on the door and adjust the door position.
    5. Tighten the 4 hinge bolts on the door after adjustment.

      Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

    6. Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, slightly loosen the 2 striker mounting screws.

    7. Using a brass bar and a hammer, hit the striker to adjust its position.
    8. Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, tighten the 2 striker mounting screws after adjustment.

      Torque: 23 N*m (235 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf) 

    9. Install the front fender seal with the 4 clips.
