DTC C0040-13: Brake Pedal Switch "A" Circuit Open [08/2019 - ]: Procedure

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
3. Select the Data List using the Techstream.

   Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2019 - ]

   CHASSIS > BRAKE > DATA LIST

1. Clear the DTCs.

2. Turn the ignition switch off.
3. Start the engine.
4. Perform a road test.
5. Check if the same DTC is output.

REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2019 - ] 

1. Inspect the brake pedal load sensing switch (brake pedal support assembly).

   Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [08/2015 - ]

   OK

   The brake pedal load sensing switch (brake pedal support assembly) is normal.

   Result

   NG

REPLACE BRAKE PEDAL SUPPORT ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2015 - ]

1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connector.
2. Disconnect the A58 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   A58- 27 (FSW+) - A55- 2 (FSW+)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   A58- 27 (FSW+) or A55- 2 (FSW+) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
