DTC B1650-32: Occupant Classification System Malfunction [08/2015 - 08/2019]: Description

The occupant classification system circuit consists of the center airbag sensor and occupant classification ECU.

If the center airbag sensor receives signals from the occupant classification ECU, it determines whether the instrument panel passenger airbag, lower No. 2 instrument panel airbag, front seat side airbag RH and front seat outer belt should be operated.

DTC B1650-32 is stored when a malfunction is detected in the occupant classification system circuit.

DTC Code DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
B1650-32 One of the following conditions is met:
  • An occupant classification system malfunction.
  • The center airbag sensor detects a line short circuit signal, open circuit signal, short circuit to ground signal or short circuit to B+ signal in the occupant classification system circuit for 2 seconds.
  • A center airbag sensor malfunction.
  • Floor wire
  • Front seat wire RH
  • Occupant classification system
  • Center airbag sensor assembly
