Removal [08/2015 - 08/2019]: Procedure

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 08/2019] ).

  2. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SEAT ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat) 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] )

  3. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Put protective tape around the door scuff plate assembly LH.

      *1 Protective Tape
    2. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 clips, 10 claws and 2 guides to remove the door scuff plate assembly LH.

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  4. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  5. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH 
    1. Remove the clip.

    2. Detach the clip and claw to remove the cowl side trim board LH.
  6. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 
    1. Remove the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH.

  8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  9. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP PLUG 
    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws to remove the assist grip plug.

      HINT: 

      • Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
      • Use the same procedure for the other assist grip plug.
  10. REMOVE NO. 1 ASSIST GRIP 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Detach the 2 claws to remove the No. 1 assist grip.
  11. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH 
    1. Detach the clip and 3 guides to remove the front pillar garnish RH.

    2. Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.

      1. Completely cover the curtain shield airbag assembly with a protective cover and secure the ends of the cover with adhesive tape as shown in the illustration.

        NOTE:

        Cover the curtain shield airbag assembly with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish RH is removed.

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws to remove the No. 1 front pillar garnish cover LH.

    2. Remove the bolt.

    5. Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.

      1. Completely cover the curtain shield airbag assembly with a protective cover and secure the ends of the cover with adhesive tape as shown in the illustration.

  13. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 FLOOR STEP COVER (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat) 
    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws to remove the rear No. 1 floor step cover.

  14. REMOVE QUARTER SCUFF PLATE LH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat) 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and quarter scuff plate LH.

    1. Remove the bolt to disconnect the front seat outer belt floor anchor.

  23. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH 
    1. Move the front shoulder belt anchor adjuster to the lowest position.

    2. Remove the bolt.
    3. Detach the 2 clips and 2 guides.
    4. Pass the front seat outer belt floor anchor through the center pillar garnish LH to remove the center pillar garnish LH.

      NOTE:

      Do not forcibly pry the assist grip plugs to prevent them from being deformed.

      HINT: 

      • Gently pry the assist grip plugs as shown in the illustration to detach the claws.
      • Tape the clip remover tip before use.
      • Use the same procedure for the other assist grip sub-assembly.
    2. Pull off the 2 assist grip plugs by hand.
    3. Detach the 2 clips to remove the assist grip sub-assembly.

    4. Remove the 2 clips from the vehicle body.
  50. REMOVE REAR ASSIST GRIP ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a clip remover, detach the 4 claws.

      Do not forcibly pry the assist grip plugs to prevent them from being deformed.

      HINT:

    2. Pull off the 2 assist grip plugs by hand.
    3. Detach the 2 clips to remove the rear assist grip assembly.
