VSC OFF Switch Circuit [08/2015 - 08/2019]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 

    See step  1

    CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

  2. CHECK IF BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR IS SECURELY CONNECTED

    NG 

    CONNECT CONNECTOR TO BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY CORRECTLY 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (TRAC/VSC OFF MODE) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRAC / Data List.
    6. According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.
      ABS/VSC/TRAC

    7. Check the indicator light and mode condition on the Techstream changes according to VSC OFF switch operation.

    INSPECT METER / GAUGE SYSTEM

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK 

    (Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2015 - 08/2019] )

  4. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (TRAC OFF INDICATOR LIGHT AND VSC OFF INDICATOR LIGHT) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRAC / Active Test.
    6. According to the display on the Techstream, perform the Active Test.
      ABS/VSC/TRAC

    7. Check the TRAC OFF indicator light, VSC OFF indicator light and AUTO LSD indicator light in the combination meter assembly turn on or off in accordance with Techstream operation.

      OK

      The TRAC OFF indicator light and VSC OFF indicator light, AUTO LSD indicator light turn on or off in accordance with Techstream operation.

    Result: 

    NG

  5. INSPECT VSC OFF SWITCH 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Remove the VSC OFF switch (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] ).
    3. Inspect the VSC OFF switch (Refer to INSPECTION [08/2015 - ] ).

      OK

      The VSC OFF switch operates normally.

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE VSC OFF SWITCH 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] )

    Result: 

    OK

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VSC OFF SWITCH - BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the A53 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A53-30 (CSW) - U6-6 Always Below 1 Ω
      A53-30 (CSW) or U6-6 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      U6-3 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2019] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  7. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Perform the Active Test of the combination meter assembly using the Techstream (Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2015 - 08/2019] ).
    3. Check the combination meter assembly.

      OK

      The TRAC OFF indicator light and VSC OFF indicator light turn on or off in accordance with Techstream operation.

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2019] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    INSPECT METER / GAUGE SYSTEM 

    (Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2015 - ] )
