DTC P0571-13: Brake Switch "A" Circuit Open [08/2019 - ]: Procedure

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
3. Select the Data List on the Techstream.

   Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2019 - ]

   CHASSIS > BRAKE > DATA LIST

   Stop Light SW	Stop light switch assembly (STP terminal input)	ON or OFF	OFF: Brake pedal released ON: Brake pedal depressed	HINT:  The brake pedal state is determined using the voltage at terminal STP

4. Check that the stop light switch assembly condition observed on the Techstream changes according to brake pedal operation.

   OK

   The Techstream displays ON or OFF according to brake pedal operation.

1. Turn the ignition switch off.
2. Clear the DTCs.

   Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2019 - ]

3. Turn the ignition switch off.
4. Start the engine.
5. Depress the brake pedal several times to test the stop light circuit.
6. Check if the same DTC is recorded.

   Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2019 - ]

   HINT: 

   If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step.

   DTC P0571-13 is output

REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2019 - ] 

1. Turn the ignition switch off.

   *a	Front view of wire harness connector (to Skid Control ECU (Brake Actuator Assembly))

2. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.
3. Disconnect the A58 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Voltage

   Tester Connection	Switch Condition	Specified Condition
   A58-35 (STP) - Body ground	Stop light switch ON (Brake pedal depressed)	8 to 14 V
   	Stop light switch OFF (Brake pedal released)	Below 1.5 V

   Result
