DTC C1440: Steering Angle Sensor Unusual Bank Angle Detected [08/2015 - 08/2019]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - 08/2019] ).
    2. Perform a road test.
    3. Check if the same DTC is output (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - 08/2019] ).
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      DTC C1440 is output A
      DTC C1440 is not output B
      Yaw rate and acceleration sensor DTC is output C

    REPAIR CIRCUITS INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTCS

  2. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - 08/2019] ).

      HINT: 

      • If the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) determines that the vehicle is being driven at a steep bank angle, the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) stores DTC C1440 while VSC operation is temporarily disabled.
      • It is not a malfunction if the system and sensor circuits are normal and if the normal VSC operation resumes, which automatically clears DTC C1440, after the vehicle is returned to a normal position.
