DTC B1500: Fuel Sender Open Detected [08/2019 - ]: Procedure

1. Use the Data List to check if the fuel receiver gauge is operating properly.

   Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2019 - 08/2021] , or refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2021 - ]

REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2022 - ] 

Result: 

NG

1. Disconnect the F14 meter connector.
2. Disconnect the Q5 gauge connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   F14-26 (L) - Q5-2 (FS)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   F14-2 (E3) - Q5-3 (FE)
   F14-26 (L) or Q5-2 (FS) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

Result: 

NG 

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

Result: 

OK

1. Remove the fuel suction with pump and gauge tube assembly.

   Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ]

   *a	Component without harness connected (Fuel Suction Tube with Pump and Gauge Assembly)
   *b	Lower Side (to Fuel Sender Gauge Assembly)
   *c	Connector A
   *d	Connector B

2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   A-2 (FS) - B-2	Always	Below 1 Ω
   A-3 (FE) - B-1

Result: 

NG 

REPLACE FUEL SUCTION WITH PUMP AND GAUGE TUBE ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] 

Result: 

OK

1. Remove the fuel sender gauge assembly.

   Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ]

2. Inspect the fuel sender gauge assembly.

   Refer to INSPECTION [08/2015 - ]

   OK

   Fuel sender gauge assembly is normal.

Result: 

OK 

REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2022 - ]

NG 

REPLACE FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2015 - ]
