Power Seat Position is not Memorized [11/2024 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FRONT POWER SEAT CONTROL OPERATION 
    1. Check that each function of the power seat operates normally by using the front power seat switch LH.

      Refer to OPERATION CHECK [12/2021 - ]

      OK

      Each function of the power seat operates normally using the front power seat switch LH.

    GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (M1, M2, SET SWITCH) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Data List

      Driver Seat Memory Switch (MM) SET switch signal ON or OFF ON: SET switch on
      OFF: SET switch off

      Driver Seat Memory Switch (M1) M1 switch signal ON or OFF ON: M1 switch on

      Driver Seat Memory Switch (M2) M2 switch signal ON or OFF ON: M2 switch on
      OFF: M2 switch off

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Data List

      Driver Seat Memory Switch (M2)

      OK

      On the Techstream screen, ON or OFF is displayed accordingly.

  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (BUZZER) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Driver Seat / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Driver Seat > Active Test

      Buzzer sounds normally.

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

    REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

  4. INSPECT SEAT MEMORY SWITCH 
    1. Remove the seat memory switch.

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - ]

    2. Inspect the seat memory switch.

      Refer to INSPECTION [11/2018 - ]

      Result

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SEAT MEMORY SWITCH 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - ]

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT MEMORY SWITCH - MAIN BODY ECU [MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU] AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the G43 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    2. Disconnect the J4 seat memory switch connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G43-7 (MM) - J4-2 (MMRY) Always Below 1 Ω
      G43-7 (MM) or J4-2 (MMRY) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G43-10 (M1) - J4-3 (1) Always Below 1 Ω
      G43-10 (M1) or J4-3 (1) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G43-9 (M2) - J4-4 (2) Always Below 1 Ω
      G43-9 (M2) or J4-4 (2) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J4-1 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result
