DTC B2653: Lifter Sensor Malfunction [11/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2018 - 10/2023] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2023 - 11/2024] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2024 - ]

      Body Electrical > Driver Seat > Clear DTCs

  2. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2018 - 10/2023] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2023 - 11/2024] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2024 - ]

      Body Electrical > Driver Seat > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTC B2653 is not output.

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK

  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (LIFTER OPERATION) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Driver Seat / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Driver Seat > Active Test

  4. CHECK POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY (LIFTER MOTOR CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the power seat lifter motor assembly LH connector.

      *a Rear view of wire harness connector
      (to Power Seat Lifter Motor Assembly LH)
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      T12-2 - T12-3 Rear lifter switch on 4.8 to 5.1 V

      Result

    REPLACE POWER SEAT LIFTER MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - 02/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [02/2019 - 10/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2019 - 08/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to REMOVAL [12/2021 - 10/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - POWER SEAT LIFTER MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Disconnect the T8 position control ECU assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the T12 power seat lifter motor assembly LH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      T8-25 (SSRL) - T12-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      T8-25 (SSRL) or T12-2 - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      T8-12 (SGND) - T12-3 Always Below 1 Ω
      T8-12 (SGND) or T12-3 - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

    REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - 02/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [02/2019 - 10/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2019 - 08/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to REMOVAL [12/2021 - 10/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  6. INSPECT POWER SEAT LIFTER MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the power seat lifter motor assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - 02/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [02/2019 - 10/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2019 - 08/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to REMOVAL [12/2021 - 10/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

    2. Inspect the power seat lifter motor assembly LH.

      Refer to INSPECTION [11/2018 - 12/2021] , or refer to INSPECTION [12/2021 - ]

    REPLACE POWER SEAT LIFTER MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - POWER SEAT LIFTER MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Disconnect the T7 and T6 position control ECU assembly connectors.
    2. Disconnect the T12 power seat lifter motor assembly LH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      T7-6 (LFT+) - T12-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      T7-6 (LFT+) or T12-1 - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      T6-5 (LFT-) - T12-4 Always Below 1 Ω
      T6-5 (LFT-) or T12-4 - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result
