DTC B2651: Reclining Sensor Malfunction [11/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2018 - 10/2023] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2023 - 11/2024] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2024 - ]

      Body Electrical > Driver Seat > Clear DTCs

  2. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2018 - 10/2023] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2023 - 11/2024] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2024 - ]

      Body Electrical > Driver Seat > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTC B2651 is not output.

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK

  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SEAT RECLINING) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Driver Seat / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Driver Seat > Active Test

  4. CHECK POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY (RECLINING MOTOR CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the reclining motor (front seatback frame sub-assembly LH) connector.

      *a Rear view of wire harness connector
      (to Reclining Motor [Front Seatback Frame Sub-assembly LH])
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      T23-2 - T23-3 Reclining switch on 4.8 to 5.1 V

      Result

    Result:

    REPLACE RECLINING MOTOR (FRONT SEATBACK FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH) 

    Refer to DISASSEMBLY [11/2018 - 12/2021] , or refer to DISASSEMBLY [12/2021 - ]

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - RECLINING MOTOR [FRONT SEATBACK FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH]) 
    1. Disconnect the T8 position control ECU assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the T23 reclining motor (front seatback frame sub-assembly LH) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      T8-11 (SSRR) - T23-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      T8-11 (SSRR) or T23-2 - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      T8-12 (SGND) - T23-3 Always Below 1 Ω
      T8-12 (SGND) or T23-3 - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

    REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - 02/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [02/2019 - 10/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2019 - 08/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to REMOVAL [12/2021 - 10/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  6. INSPECT RECLINING MOTOR (FRONT SEATBACK FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Remove the reclining motor (front seatback frame sub-assembly LH).

      Refer to DISASSEMBLY [11/2018 - 12/2021] , or refer to DISASSEMBLY [12/2021 - ]

    2. Inspect the reclining motor (front seatback frame sub-assembly LH).

      Refer to INSPECTION [11/2018 - 12/2021] , or refer to INSPECTION [12/2021 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE RECLINING MOTOR (FRONT SEATBACK FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH) 

    Refer to DISASSEMBLY [11/2018 - 12/2021] , or refer to DISASSEMBLY [12/2021 - ]

    OK

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - RECLINING MOTOR [FRONT SEATBACK FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH]) 
    1. Disconnect the T7 and T6 position control ECU assembly connectors.
    2. Disconnect the T23 reclining motor (front seatback frame sub-assembly LH) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      T7-10 (RCL+) - T23-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      T7-10 (RCL+) or T23-1 - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      T6-6 (RCL-) - T23-4 Always Below 1 Ω
      T6-6 (RCL-) or T23-4 - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to

    Result:
