Downhill Assist Control Indicator Light does not Come ON [11/2018 - 10/2022]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Remove the downhill assist control switch (integration control and panel assembly).

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - ]

    3. Inspect the downhill assist control switch (integration control and panel assembly).

      Refer to INSPECTION [11/2018 - ]

      OK

      The downhill assist control switch operates normally.

      Result

      Result
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2018 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY - INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the A39 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A39-8 (HDCS) - G32-19 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      A39-8 (HDCS) or G32-19 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G32-16 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Result
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Perform Active Test of the combination meter assembly using the Techstream.

      Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [11/2018 - 08/2020] , or refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2020 - 10/2022]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Active Test 

      Tester Display
      Downhill Assist Control Indicator
    3. Check the combination meter assembly.

      OK

      The Downhill assist control indicator light turns on or off in accordance with the Techstream.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2018 - 10/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2019 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - 10/2022] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    INSPECT METER / GAUGE SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2018 - ]
