Removal [11/2018 - 10/2019]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION (w/o Vacuum Brake Booster) 
    NOTE:
    • After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.
    • Make sure to read the precautions of the electric parking brake system before removing the rear brake assembly.

      Refer to PRECAUTION [11/2018 - 02/2019] , or refer to PRECAUTION [02/2019 - 12/2021]

  2. REMOVE REAR WHEEL 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - ]

  3. PERFORM REAR BRAKE PAD REPLACEMENT MODE 
  4. DISABLE BRAKE CONTROL (w/o Vacuum Brake Booster) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [11/2018 - 02/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [02/2019 - 10/2019]

  5. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID 
    NOTE:

    If brake fluid leaks onto any painted surface, immediately wash it off.

  6. DISCONNECT NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE WIRE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  7. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE PAD 
    WARNING:
    • Be careful not to get pinched by the rear disc brake cylinder assembly or other parts when removing the rear disc brake pads.
    • After lifting up the rear disc brake cylinder assembly, secure it in place before performing any work on it.
    • The rear disc brake cylinder assembly could fall, pinching hands or fingers and causing injury.

    1. Hold the rear No. 1 disc brake cylinder slide pin and remove the bolt.

      *a Turn
      *b Hold
    2. Pull the rear disc brake cylinder assembly upward.
    3. Remove the 2 rear disc brake pads from the rear disc brake cylinder mounting.

  8. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE ANTI-SQUEAL SHIM KIT 
    1. Remove the rear No. 1 disc brake anti-squeal shim from the rear disc brake pad (inside and outside).

      *1 Rear No. 1 Disc Brake Anti-squeal Shim
      *2 Rear No. 2 Disc Brake Anti-squeal Shim
      *3 Rear Disc Brake Anti-squeal Shim
      *4 Rear Disc Brake Pad Wear Indicator Plate
    2. Remove the rear No. 2 disc brake anti-squeal shim from the rear disc brake pad (inside and outside).
    3. Remove the rear disc brake anti-squeal shim from the rear disc brake pad (outside).
    4. Remove the rear disc brake pad wear indicator plate from each rear disc brake pad.
