Removal [11/2018 - 10/2019]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION (w/o Vacuum Brake Booster) NOTE:
- After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.
- Make sure to read the precautions of the electric parking brake system before removing the rear brake assembly.

- REMOVE REAR WHEEL
Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - ]
- PERFORM REAR BRAKE PAD REPLACEMENT MODE
- w/ Vacuum Brake Booster:
Refer to TEST MODE PROCEDURE [11/2018 - ]
- w/o Vacuum Brake Booster:
Refer to TEST MODE PROCEDURE [11/2018 - 02/2019] , or refer to TEST MODE PROCEDURE [02/2019 - 12/2021]
- w/ Vacuum Brake Booster:
- DISABLE BRAKE CONTROL (w/o Vacuum Brake Booster)
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [11/2018 - 02/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [02/2019 - 10/2019]
- DRAIN BRAKE FLUID NOTE:
If brake fluid leaks onto any painted surface, immediately wash it off.
- DISCONNECT NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE WIRE ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4
- REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE PAD WARNING:
- Be careful not to get pinched by the rear disc brake cylinder assembly or other parts when removing the rear disc brake pads.
- After lifting up the rear disc brake cylinder assembly, secure it in place before performing any work on it.
- The rear disc brake cylinder assembly could fall, pinching hands or fingers and causing injury.
- REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE ANTI-SQUEAL SHIM KIT
- Remove the rear No. 1 disc brake anti-squeal shim from the rear disc brake pad (inside and outside).
*1 Rear No. 1 Disc Brake Anti-squeal Shim *2 Rear No. 2 Disc Brake Anti-squeal Shim *3 Rear Disc Brake Anti-squeal Shim *4 Rear Disc Brake Pad Wear Indicator Plate - Remove the rear No. 2 disc brake anti-squeal shim from the rear disc brake pad (inside and outside).
- Remove the rear disc brake anti-squeal shim from the rear disc brake pad (outside).
- Remove the rear disc brake pad wear indicator plate from each rear disc brake pad.
- Remove the rear No. 1 disc brake anti-squeal shim from the rear disc brake pad (inside and outside).
