DTC B1423: Open in Pressure Sensor Circuit / Abnormal Refrigerant Pressure [02/2019 - 08/2020]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [02/2019 - ]

      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      DTC B1423 is output A
      DTC B1423 and B14B8 are output B

    Result: 

    GO TO DTC B14B8. Refer to  DTC B14B8: Refrigerant Shortage [02/2019 - 08/2020]

  2. CHECK COMPARE REFRIGERANT GAS PRESSURE VALUES SHOWN ON TECHSTREAM AND MANIFOLD GAUGE SET 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Data List

    6. Install a manifold gauge set.
      1. for HFC-134a (R134a): Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [11/2018 - 08/2020]
      2. for HFO-1234yf (R1234yf): Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [02/2019 - ]
    7. Read the manifold gauge pressure when the following conditions are met.
      1. Prepare the vehicle according to the table below.
        MEASUREMENT CONDITION:

        Item Condition
        Vehicle Condition Engine running
        Doors Fully closed (windows also fully closed)
        A/C Switch On
        Recirculation/fresh Control Switch Recirculation
        Set Temperature MAX COLD
        Blower Speed HI
        Air Conditioning Air Inlet Temperature 25 to 35°C (77 to 95°F)
    8. Compare the values displayed in the Data List and on the manifold gauge.

      Result

      Data List value and manifold gauge set value do not match and Data List value: 176 kPa (1.8 kgf/cm2 ) or less A
      Data List value and manifold gauge set value do not match and Data List value: 3025 kPa (30.9 kgf/cm2 ) or less B

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (REGULATOR PRESSURE SENSOR) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Data List

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONER PRESSURE SENSOR - POWER SOURCE) 
    1. Disconnect the air conditioner pressure sensor connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - AIR CONDITIONER PRESSURE SENSOR) 
    1. Disconnect the G47 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the A22 air conditioner pressure sensor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G47-11 (S5-3) - A22-3 (+) Always Below 1 Ω

      NG

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONER PRESSURE SENSOR - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the air conditioner pressure sensor connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Disconnect the G47 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the A22 air conditioner pressure sensor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

    2. Disconnect the A22 air conditioner pressure sensor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  11. CHECK AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY (INTERNAL CIRCUIT RESISTANCE) 
    1. Disconnect the air conditioner pressure sensor connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      A22-2 (PR) - A22-3 (+) Ignition switch off 180 to 220 kΩ

      HINT: 

      After turning the ignition switch off, wait at least 30 seconds before performing the measurement.

    2. Disconnect the A22 air conditioner pressure sensor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Disconnect the G47 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the A22 air conditioner pressure sensor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

    2. Disconnect the A22 air conditioner pressure sensor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
