Distance Control Switch Circuit [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (VEHICLE-TO-VEHICLE DISTANCE CONTROL SWITCH) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise2 / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Powertrain > Radar Cruise2 > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Vehicle-to-vehicle Distance Control Switch Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control switch signal ON or OFF ON: Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control switch pushed
      OFF: Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control switch not pushed

      Powertrain > Radar Cruise2 > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Vehicle-to-vehicle Distance Control Switch

      OK

      The value of the Data List item changes according to the operation of the vehicle-to-vehicle distance control switch.

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [12/2021 - ]

  2. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the steering pad switch assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

    2. Inspect the steering pad switch assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [08/2020 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2023 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the spiral cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

    2. Inspect the spiral cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [08/2020 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2023 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the G20 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the P29 forward recognition camera connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G20-6 (DIST) - P29-3 (LKSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      G20-2 (ECC) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      G20-6 (DIST) or P29-3 (LKSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Connect the P29 forward recognition camera connector.
    5. Connect the G20 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
