ECM Communication Stop Mode [02/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (ECM MAIN WIRE AND BRANCH WIRE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.

      (to ECM)
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A24-8 (CANH) - A24-18 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω
      A24-7 (CAN+) - A24-17 (CAN-) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      OK A
      NG (No. 3 CAN junction connector main wire) B
      NG (No. 4 CAN junction connector branch wire) C

    Result: 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN MAIN WIRE OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH WIRE OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (to ECM)

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A24-45 (EC) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal Below 1 Ω
      A24-10 (E1) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal Below 1 Ω
      A24-36 (E2) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal Below 1 Ω
      A24-54 (E1D1) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal Below 1 Ω
    2. Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

      Refer to INITIALIZATION [02/2019 - 10/2019] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2019 - 06/2020] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [06/2020 - 08/2020] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2021 - 10/2022] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2023 - ]

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A24-1 (BATT) - Body ground Ignition switch off 11 to 14 V
      A24-9 (+B) - Body ground Terminal A24-15 (MREL) connected to body ground 11 to 14 V
      A24-35 (+B2) - Body ground Terminal A24-15 (MREL) connected to body ground 11 to 14 V
      A24-2 (IGSW) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      Ignition switch off Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE ECM 

    Refer to REMOVAL [02/2019 - 08/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to REMOVAL [12/2021 - 10/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
