Replacement [12/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2021 - ]

  2. REMOVE DRIVE SHAFT BEARING BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 [12/2021 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 [10/2023 - ]

  3. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL LH 
    1. Using SST, remove the front drive shaft oil seal LH from the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly.

      • SST: 09308-00010 
      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly.

  4. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL RH 
    1. Using SST, remove the front drive shaft oil seal RH from the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly.

      • SST: 09308-00010 
      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly.

  5. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL RH 
    1. Using SST and a hammer, install a new front drive shaft oil seal RH to the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly.

      *a Depth
      *b Inner Lip
      *c Outer Lip
      • SST: 09316-10010 
      • SST: 09950-70010 
        1. 09951-07100

      Standard Depth

      -0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0197 to 0.0197 in.)

      NOTE:
      • Make sure that the outer lip of the front drive shaft oil seal RH is not pinched by SST.

        *a Correct
        *b Incorrect
        *c Outer Lip
      • Do not allow foreign matter to attach to the inner lip and outer lip of the front drive shaft oil seal RH.
      • Do not install the front drive shaft oil seal RH at an angle.
      • Do not remove the grease from the inner lip and outer lip of the front drive shaft oil seal RH.
  6. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL LH 
    1. Using SST and a hammer, install a new front drive shaft oil seal LH to the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly.

      *b Inner Lip
      *c Outer Lip
      • SST: 09649-17010 
      • SST: 09950-70010 
        1. 09951-07100

      Standard Depth

      -0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0197 to 0.0197 in.)

      NOTE:
      • Make sure that the outer lip of the front drive shaft oil seal LH is not pinched by SST.

  7. INSTALL DRIVE SHAFT BEARING BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 37

  8. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [02/2019 - ]
