DTC C1AE3-87: Ultrasonic Sensor (Front Right Center) Missing Message [02/2019 - 10/2023]: Procedure

  1. VEHICLE CONDITION AND WORK DETAILS CHECK 
    1. Check the vehicle condition and work details.

    GO TO CALIBRATION. Refer to  CALIBRATION [02/2019 - 10/2022]  , or refer to  CALIBRATION [10/2022 - 10/2023]

  2. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (ULTRASONIC SENSOR) 
    1. Check that the connector is properly connected to the front corner ultrasonic sensor and front center ultrasonic sensor.

  3. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Clearance Warning > Clear DTCs

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR [FLC SENSOR] - FRONT CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR [FRC SENSOR]) 
    1. Disconnect the B4 front center ultrasonic sensor (FLC sensor) connector.
    2. Disconnect the B3 front center ultrasonic sensor (FRC sensor) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B4-1 (BO) - B3-4 (BI) Always Below 1 Ω
      B4-2 (SO) - B3-5 (SI) Always Below 1 Ω
      B4-3 (EO) - B3-6 (EI) Always Below 1 Ω
      B4-1 (BO) or B3-4 (BI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      B4-2 (SO) or B3-5 (SI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      B4-3 (EO) or B3-6 (EI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  9. REPLACE FRONT CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR (FRC SENSOR) 
    1. Replace the front center ultrasonic sensor (FRC sensor) with a known good one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [02/2019 - 08/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - 10/2023]

      HINT: 

      All of the sensors are interchangeable. To confirm whether a sensor is functioning normally, switch it with a known good sensor from the other end of the vehicle.

  10. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [02/2019 - ]

      Body Electrical > Clearance Warning > Trouble Codes

      Body Electrical > Clearance Warning > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [02/2019 - ]
