DTC P3107-15: Lost Communication with Airbag System Control Module Circuit Short to Auxiliary Battery or Open [11/2018 - 08/2020]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (SRS AIRBAG) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result  Proceed to
      Airbag system DTCs are not output. A
      Airbag system DTCs are output. B
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result: 

    GO TO DTC CHART (AIRBAG SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [11/2018 - 08/2020] 

    Result:

  2. CHECK AIR BAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY (CHECK WAVEFORM)

  4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result  Proceed to
      P3107-15 is not output. A
      P3107-15 is output again. B
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result: 

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2018 - 02/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [02/2019 - 10/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2019 - 08/2020]

  5. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 

    Refer to CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [11/2018 - 08/2020]

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2018 - 02/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [02/2019 - 10/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2019 - 08/2020] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA 

  6. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

    CONNECT SECURELY

  7. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR) 
    1. Check the connector connections and contact pressure of the relevant terminals for the G70 airbag sensor assembly connector.

      OK

      The connectors are connected securely and there are no contact pressure problems.

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the A30 hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the G70 airbag sensor assembly connector.
    3. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A30-29 (ABFS) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) Below 1 V
      NOTE:

      Turning the power switch on (IG) with the airbag sensor assembly connector and the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

    5. Turn the power switch off.
    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      A30-29 (ABFS) - G70-24 (GSW2) Power switch off Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A30-29 (ABFS) or G70-24 (GSW2) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher
    7. Reconnect the G70 airbag sensor assembly connector.
    8. Reconnect the A30 hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  9. CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the A30 airbag sensor assembly connector.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      NOTE:

      Turning the power switch on (IG) with the airbag sensor assembly connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

      Standard Voltage

      A30-29 (ABFS) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
    4. Turn the power switch off.
    5. Reconnect the A30 airbag sensor assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2018 - 02/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [02/2019 - 10/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2019 - 08/2020]

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the G70 airbag sensor assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G70-33 (E1) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 Ω
    3. Reconnect the G70 airbag sensor assembly connector.

      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE AIR BAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2018 - 02/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [02/2019 - 10/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2019 - 08/2020]

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
