DTC B2204-9E: Kick Sensor Stuck ON [10/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Back Door > Clear DTCs 

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result:

  2. REPRODUCE DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for at least 60 seconds.

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result: 

    NEXT

  3. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Back Door > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      B2204-9E is not output A
      B2204-9E is output B

    Result: 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK 

    Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2018 - ]

  4. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Disconnect the Q7 kick door control sensor connector.
    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Back Door > Clear DTCs 

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

  5. REPRODUCE DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for at least 60 seconds.

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

  6. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Back Door > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      B2204-9E is not output A
      B2204-9E is output B

    REPLACE KICK DOOR CONTROL SENSOR 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU - KICK DOOR CONTROL SENSOR) 
    1. Disconnect the R26 multiplex network door ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the Q7 kick door control sensor assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R26-12 (KSIN) or Q7-3 (KSOT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
