Rear Seat Belt Warning Light Malfunction [08/2020 - 10/2022]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      RR Door Courtesy SW Rear door courtesy light switch RH signal OFF or ON OFF: Rear door RH closed
      ON: Rear door RH open      		 -
      RL Door Courtesy SW Rear door courtesy light switch LH signal OFF or ON OFF: Rear door LH closed
      ON: Rear door LH open      		 -

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Data List 

      Tester Display

      OK

      The Techstream display changes correctly in response to the rear door condition.

    Result: 

    NG 

    GO TO LIGHTING SYSTEM. Refer to  Door Courtesy Switch Circuit [11/2018 - 10/2023]

    OK

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List

      "Rear Right Seat Buckle / Occupant Detection Warning Switch" item does not switch to "ON" or "OFF" according to the rear seat belt condition B
      "Rear Left Seat Buckle / Occupant Detection Warning Switch" item does not switch to "ON" or "OFF" according to the rear LH seat belt condition C
      "Rear Center Seat Buckle / Occupant Detection Warning Switch" item does not switch to "ON" or "OFF" according to the rear center seat belt condition D

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2018 - 10/2022]

  3. INSPECT REAR SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the rear seat inner belt assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - ]

    2. Inspect the rear seat inner belt assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [11/2018 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE REAR SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2018 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the N37 rear seat inner belt assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the G19 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N37-5 (RBR+) - G19-35 (RRSB) Always Below 1 Ω
      N37-5 (RBR+) or G19-35 (RRSB) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N37-4 (RBR-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2018 - 10/2022] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  5. INSPECT REAR SEAT INNER WITH CENTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the rear seat inner with center belt assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - ]

    2. Inspect the rear seat inner with center belt assembly LH.

      Refer to INSPECTION [11/2018 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE REAR SEAT INNER WITH CENTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2018 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR SEAT INNER WITH CENTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the N38 rear seat inner with center belt assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the G19 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N38-5 (LBR+) - G19-36 (RLSB) Always Below 1 Ω
      N38-5 (LBR+) or G19-36 (RLSB) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N38-4 (LBR-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2018 - 10/2022] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  7. INSPECT REAR SEAT INNER WITH CENTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the rear seat inner with center belt assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - ]

    2. Inspect the rear seat inner with center belt assembly LH.

      Refer to INSPECTION [11/2018 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE REAR SEAT INNER WITH CENTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2018 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR SEAT INNER WITH CENTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the N39 rear seat inner with center belt assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the G19 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N39-4 (CBR+) - G19-19 (RCSB) Always Below 1 Ω
      N39-4 (CBR+) or G19-19 (RCSB) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N39-3 (CBR-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2018 - 10/2022]
